Season ticket holders

Seeing as my missus has caved in to the fear campaign and treated the whole family to a BBC season ticket, I will dutifully be listening on Radio Sheffield, with all the usual enthusiasm of someone two rooms away with half an ear open for that modicum of excitement in the commentator's voice which says 'The blades have fallen behind again'. I wouldn't consider myself a true fan if I didn't.

Don't you mean Keith's acidic comment that we need to 'Get the ball forrerd' when we go a goal down. Did I actually hear him say on Saturday, 'players start as strikers, if they aren't good enough they become mid fielders and if they still aren't good enough, they end up as defenders' he was driticising Brayford at the time. Obviously, I have paraphrased.

Season ticket holder not going, I will be at the coast enjoying a stress free weekend even if it is pissing down and freezing. Then again a trip to Meadowhall is more excitement than those useless cunts at the lane can muster.

I'm still excited with the Oldham result ;)
so I'll be there :)

Yes you did hear that. I heard it also and thought it most bizarre. Craig Beattie must be a goalie by now then, surely?

I suppose he means as a kid and there's s but of truth to it. The best players always played up front in the playground but when they played for a good youth side might have to give way to someone better and end up further back. Quite a few of my mates played as strikers but became midfielders or defenders as they moved up the levels of schoolboy football. I didn't move up the levels, I never got to play striker (well, twice).

Going but looking forward to the day out on the lash rather than the 90mins of 'football'

Double time overtime and I'd not realised we were playing Friday
Fair enough ,stopped me in my tracks :)
Actually Im only going because I was expecting to be hightailing down to Southend for a lads weekend in Canvey Island until Sky came along and fucked all my Easter up. I could have been in the States ,but a 2 week break is now 10 days and Im missing Southend altogether ,cant even see it on telly I will be over Chicago probably. Now we are having a weekend in Coventry ....don't laugh ,even booked the hotel in the stadium.

Grim. What you going to do other than the casino?

Why not it might be entertaining, Easter is the time for miracles you know.

If you honestly believe that Kevin McCabe is lining his pockets as a result of 18,000 supporters turning up at Bramall Lane, you are deluded. He has lost and continues to lose large amounts of money as a result of our current plight. Whether this plight is largely of his own making is irrelevant in this context.

McCabe will keep us afloat yet again . See one of the McCabes in Windsor a lot and believe you me , they are in a very diplomatic way as confused / pissed off as the fans .

Work my way to the lane either from Eckington or Chertsey . Love madness and habit I cannot break for BDTBL.

UTB

If you didn't have a season ticket, would you still go on Friday to watch the mighty Crewe.

I'm not sure I can be arsed to be honest. Cant we just forfeit all our remaining games now fro the rest of the season and save ourselves the bother.

But that's exactly why I buy a season ticket. It's easier to make one stupid decision than 23. :)

I would only miss a home game if I was working or had something I could not get out of (say a wedding) or was ill. Still love to watch the Blades no matter how crap they are. Having a few beers pre nd/or post game makes it all the better. I doubt I would ever choose not to go.

Away is a bit different. The cost of going coupled with crap performance and us effectively going nowhere means I really cannot be arsed and I love a good away day session as much as most but cant justify spending £70 or £80 minimum on these twats on top of what I have shelled out.

Yeah Southend would have been a top weekend but now unless I go down the road to Chessy am set for my first season without an away league game for what seems like forever. I am sure next season I will be back to a few away days again but saving my money for when I may have more enthusiasm and games may mean something (most of games now are seemingly dead rubbers).

Whereabouts you staying in Chicago? (been a few times- my obsession with American Sports has seen me watch the Bulls 4 or 5 times there and the Bears once but never seen the Cubs sadly)

It all depends on why you go to football matches. If it was purely to see my team win and/or play entertaining football, I'd find another club to support. But I've watched them go down to Division 4 and back and, despite what some would have us believe, the team was much worse back then than the current one - we're 12th for Christ's sake, not threatened with relegation. Each to their own but I attended more away games in D4 than any other season and mostly enjoyed the experience - I certainly didn't expect that as I struggled to hold back the tears following our defeat to Walsall.

Pussy :)

There's no place for facts on this forum Surrey. You should know that by now.

McCabe's a thieving money grabber. Repeat ad nauseam.....

I totally forgot about it and agreed to do over time at work. Im sure I will be glad of the extra money more than missing the game

Everything seemed so much more important back then.... I was even more of a pussy when the police horses charged to clear us off the pitch at the end of the Walsall game - I was up and over the Kop fence before they'd even left the Bramall Lane penalty area!!

That would have been the fastest that I'd have ever seen you run, Traffs :)
