Season card arrival

They must have had a backtrack after all the feedback. Seemed a ridiculous change anyway. Should have been an optional switch to smart phone season tickets
It always was the option to switch to a smartphone or stick with a non- smartphone alternative. No backtracking involved - just a common sense approach throughout.

When renewing online there was a message displayed that said season cards were not being automatically renewed. The club would be in touch over the summer with instructions on how to set up your smart phone season ticket unless you specifically contacted the club and requested a new card.

If they are now renewing existing cards then that is a change of approach.

You said it should have been an optional switch to smart phone season tickets. I simply pointed out that it always was.
When I renewed my season ticket, I was able to tick a box for the non smartphone option. The club said they would get in touch on how the non smartphone option would work. They did - they wrote and told me that my existing ticket had been renewed. At no point did they ask me to request a new card.

We really need something to happen on the takeover, or see some movement in players. We must both be really bored to want to argue the toss over trivia like this ( but not as bored as those who have to read it..)

The conversation arose because someone in the thread had thought current season tickets would automatically work this season too. This wasn’t the case a month or two ago but seems like they might have changed their mind since. That is the sensible thing to do from the clubs point of view in my opinion.

Taking the default away from existing cards is asking for thousands to be locked out of the first home game. It now looks like a gentle push towards start phones which over the next 2/3 seasons might take off whilst still giving people the option to chose plastic.

And I darent get too excited about the take over it might take weeks / months or longer for anything to happen and I’m thinking 2/3/4 transfer windows until we know how the squad is going to shape up. Not expecting much this seaso .

No-one is arguing the toss for the sake of it.

The initial message was that if you didn't want your ticket on your smartphone then you would receive a new card and not have your old one activated as per previous seasons.

That has changed to we will activate old cards if you haven't moved seats or pay brackets.

It isn't a big deal but the message has changed and no doubt a few will have got rid of their old cards as a result.

When Bert rang to renew he told them he wasn't having any of that ticket on phone malarkey.
They said "No problem Bert, use your old one."

Can't see anything on website, but seems the easiest thing to do

This obviously going to be a cheaper option so should be implemented where it can.

What makes you think that introducing a mobile app is cheaper than renewing people's cards? There will have been an implementation cost for the new system and we're probably paying an annual fee to use the app. It's not at all clear to me that will cost less than having to print a few new cards each year.

Just been talking to Ticket Office Tom and if anyone has binned their previous card they will give you a new one in its place. He admitted they had mistakenly
informed people that their previous cards would be discontinued. He also said that about 90% of previous card holders had renewed, an excellent percentage
considering the catastrophic, embarrassing season we endured. New take-ups have been quite slow though. He didnt know how many sold in total as yet.
Table 18 will be unavailable for Laneys Senior Blades luncheons, yet more work being done to it over next 2 months. Preparatory work just commencing on
the Shoreham Street/Cherry Street wall repairs.

Whilst in any retail unit views are subjective I feel obliged to say that in all my dealings with the ticket office over many years they have always been friendly, helpful and efficient.
I agree and I get some pleasure in thinking that these people are very good despite that twat of the owner who probably pays them the minimum wage.

All our away fans are cunts then 😂
No, just generally the younger ones who are seemingly unable to organise themselves to sit together and just go where they like.
Plenty of folk sit in their seats, unless there’s a group of bellends who’ve taken it because they prefer it to their own.
Its not a difficult concept to get your head around.

Why don't the club put a statement on the club site about what's happening

My post #59 has just that message.

Or are you referring to the takeover situation, in which case see the monster thread.

Agreed, I’ve bought a season ticket for the first time for yonks. Nothing on the website about posting out new cards. Should I call into the ticket office or hang fire and expect the card to be delivered in time ? Any help appreciated (and it saves me trawling back through the previous posts) Cheers in advance.

I was in ticket office last week and they were sending them out in batches.

Does anyone know if you'll be able to let your mate use your ticket if you can't make a match?
At other clubs, the mate has to be registered. And you transfer the ticket for that match to them, so it shows on their phone.
I assume we would do the same.

Has anyone received their e-season-ticket yet?
I paid up ages ago but I've not had anything yet as far as I'm aware, unless I missed an email or something...
Can't find anything about when these will be issued on the website..

My wife and I both have season tickets and requested that we keep the same card for this season. She has received a mail statingbtha5 her existing card was going to be reactivated, yet i have heard nothing.
Has everyone else been told that their card is going to be reactivated ?

Well I have, it that helps.

Many thanks, I will nip into the ticket office and ask, although I assume members of SUFC staff monitor this forum and a response on here would be appreciated. In fact they could establish a section of the forum for that purpose ??
