I've just read on LinkedIn that as of yesterday there were 27,000 expected to be there on Saturday. This was posted by a chap who is relatively high up within the club.

Linked In.
Facebook for posh cunts.
Full of the same complete fucking shit.

I,like the majority, are just enjoying the ride
This weekend isn't season defining.
Whatever the outcome come the end of April, we've a manager who knows his onions.
I expect them jarred and pickled ready for distribution by next Saturday.

The biggest game since Worcester :D

The game that secures us promotion will be the biggest since Swindon.

And for those with sandy vaginas, please note that I haven't said that game will be this season.
Is Sandy back in the recording studio? I haven't heard one of her tunes in years, a bit of unique act really, singing live on stage wearing no drawers.

Easy oxford in august, as that was as make or break as i can remember in many a season. Because we could been cut adrift at the bottom of the league but it kick started everything

Someone suggested it's no different to any other game, well it is, but to state the obvious, if we win, we get 3 points and they get 0, therefore widening the gap between us. Absolutely gutted not to be going, as I'm in Perth, Australia, so I'm going to see ex-blade, Shane Lowry, play for Perth Glory v Brisbane Roar instead!

Got to get my footie fix somehow!

I hate big games - We never win big games - My entire Blades life has been littered with big games that we have failed to win !
FA Cup Semi Finals - Leicester City (plus 2 replays), Newcastle United, Arsenal, Hull City
League Cup - Liverpool, Tottenham
Play Off Finals : Crystal Palace, Wolves, Burnley, Huddersfield
Play Off Semi Finals: Bristol City, Sunderland, Yeovil, Swindon
Relegation Matches (last game of the season) Walsall, Chelsea, Wigan,
These are just off the top of my head I'm sure there are more lurking in the depths .......................!!!

Saturday is just another game, as will be Bolton the week after - Even if we win both of those we will still be playing in the Third Division until promotion is certain - hopefully around the end of March - Onwards and Upwards UTB

Thanks for that Fiery, I was at all those games and home and away and know where your coming from but I know this season we are the best team in this league and feel we will get there this time. Here's a little tip to relieve the stress, do what I've done for the last few games and imagine we are the underdogs trying to get one over the favourites it works wonders and you don't get as uptight if we don't score early or God forbid they score first. One game at a time.

Leicester U23s in the EFLuent Trophy. When you start playing competitive games against other clubs reserves you know you've fallen a long way. Hopefully, the next 2 Saturday's will show we're on our way back.

All but Leicester but you've forgotten the Watney Cup Final defeat at Eastville Fiery.

Can't believe I missed that out ! Wasn't it 7-8 on pens or have I totally lost it !

Obviously I have totally obliterated the 1993 Semi defeat from my memory !!!!!!!

One week later and this thread will have morphed into Bolton.

Ah but that Leicester game ended up being irrelevant because Leeds won to pip us on goal difference to win the league and Newcastle lost their last game anyway.

It's typical that we finally win a big game and we could have lost and would still have been promoted.

It was the FA Cup SF v Leicester he was on about.

The game on 5th May 1990 ended up being irrelevant as you say, but at 2.59pm we could still have been caught as the gap was only two points.

Leicester away won 5-2 biggish game
cardiff h won 5-1 reasonably big game
wolves away drew 2-2 smallish game
cardiff a won 1-0 biggish game
darlington a won 2-0 biggish game
qpr away prem won 2-1 biggish game
nottingham forest away cloughs last home game won 2-0 , nowt at stake

I was working on the theory that the the outcome of the big game was decisive ie promotion, relegation or knocked out of the cup
In some respects I consider myself very fortunate as a Blades fan to have witnessed the highs and lows not normally associated with a team of Sheffield United FC standing - Promotions, Relegations, Semi Finals, Play Off Finals etc - Yes against the likes of Chelsea, Man Utd, Arsenal, Liverpool etc we are talking small beer but generally we don't do too bad (apart from our extended stay in the Third Division) !
