A draw in many ways would be the best result, but I will be hoping for a Scunny win today. Fleetwood haven't lost since around the Middle Ages and need to have their confidence dented.
A win for us, a victory for either Scunny or Fleetwood and a Bolton draw or loss will mean the gap between us and third place will be double digits. UTB!

I'm gutted I didn't stick some money on Fleetwood to get promoted after they schooled us at the Lane.

Based on nothing other than them being the best team to come to BDTBL this season, I think they'll beat Scunthorpe and carry on their march to finish second behind us.

Agreed, can't see anything other than Fleetwood continuing their form.

However, sometimes a change of luck and a bit of misfortune can make the difference. Scunny maybe due some good luck, they have been poo for 3 months. For the first month they got away with it, their luck has run out recently and they are struggling.
Upset on the cards.

We do what's needed and I don't care though. It's all in our own hands.

If it's about luck evening itself out then Scunny will get hammered today, as they should have at the Lane and at Bristol Rovers.

Tricky game but significant

There's only the same 3 points on offer as with all other games. However, win today and the gap between 1st and 3rd has to increase

Based on nothing other than them being the best team to come to BDTBL this season,.

Agree, they are the only side that DEFINITELY deserved to beat us and showed up our shortcomings.

However I believe their victory was totally down to the brilliant tactics of Rosler.
Let's not lose site that we looked a far superior side than Fleetwood.
Yet again we dominated them, we had more possession. More shots on target, more off target and
An endless supply of corners.

Th early stages of the game I felt confident we'd win because they were sitting back, giving us total respect defending in numbers. Then I realised for all our attacking we really struggled to create any chances.

I also noticed that when when Fleetwood counter attacked (which wasn't that often) they broke very quickly and positively in decent numbers and they ALWAYS looked threatening creating all the best chances.

Rosler did a number on us. He let us have midfield but all our wonderful play was in front of their defence and we rarely got round the back and struggled to play through the middle due to too many bodies.
Plan B was playing more direct with crosses and long balls but their central defenders were big and more physical than our lightweight attack so even plan B failed to work.

Would be interesting to play them again because now that we have big James Hanson our plan B of playing more direct putting in crosses looks much more effective.

As long as we win then any other result has its benefits.
A draw being the most obvious as it widens the gap to 2nd.
Scunny winning will dent Fleetwood's confidence as just the wrong time and tighten the race below us.
Fleetwood winning will seriously weaken Scunny's chances of making top 2.
Whatever happens today we are still clear of 2nd and at worst 6 points off 3rd.
Not a bad state of affairs.

I'm confident Scunny can't catch us. To be honest I don't think anybody can. But if anybody, it would be Fleetwood as they're in the best form and are using the legendary 3-5-2 system. So a Scunthorpe win wouldn't be too bad - it would keep Fleetwood away from us and I'd expect Scunny to fall away regardless.

A Fleetwood win is what we want ,the other 2 to fall away with a whimper ,and us and Fleetwood to pull away. Promotion is all I want.

I was thinking earlier Sitters, if Fleetwood win it and we go up second, how long it will be before the, 'I don't care where we finish as long as we go up' view will become, 'We lost the title to FLEETWOOD?'!!

Sounds annoying dunnit?! But at the moment, I'm (just about!) still in the 'I don't care as long as we go up' camp.
I'd dearly love to take the title though, so no idea how I'd like this one to go.
I don't suppose anyone will until the season pans out further.

Another one of those games where if we win, there's a case for any result in that game being positive for us.

Win our game then worry about what happens elsewhere...the difference between a draw and one or the other team winning is a huge unknown as there will still be 33 points to play for, and Scunny play Bolton and Bolton play Fleetwood yet.

Could be that one team wins and then drops away, it's impossible at this stage to say what the best result is...

Scunny draw, Bolton draw/lose, Wendy lose biggest game of season (Rhodes o.g.), Fulham win.

If all that happen I'll be happy with a draw at Rochdale, but we'll win I think.

Kin el lots of people assuming it's us and a.n.other.

Hello, this is us, currently playing brilliant and deserving of our position but we can still f**k up so ssshhhhhhhhh. My sphincter is aching.

The clowns reality check, one game at a time. Not bothered about other teams just our results, average 1.5-2 points and we are up.

Not liking how well Fleetwood are doing. The way they're sustaining their run is getting ridiculous!

17 unbeaten - not lost now since 12 November, FFS!

Spot on B56 you know your stuff, it's not all over yet!

Nope second would now be a disappointment after leading the division for a long time. Might be a wake up call for the board though regarding the investment needed over the summer !

They'll end up having a dip at some point and they'll end up losing a daft one that no one would see coming, like Shrewsbury or Chessie or someone near the bottom..

They've been very lucky in recent games, Northampton should have been 3 up at half-time at their place last week and Scunny's 'equaliser' yesterday for example. They will slip up soon, pleeeeeeeeease :(

It wouldn't be the first time a Rosler side bottled it. Brentford managed to snatch failure from the hands of promotion after looking a very strong side.
