After last year's Ipswich game and my subsequent refusal to go to the Lane again under Blackie's tenure I am delighted to be returning this week. I bought tickets for the Scunny and Pompey games online on Thursday night. Yesterday got an email from the club saying 'if you buy a Scunny Ticket you get a Pompey Ticket for £10 - contact the ticket office for a refund if you've already bought both'. Have rung the club this morning and been told I have to wait for my tickets to arrive, then physically take the tickets back to the box office so they can reissue me with tickets showing the correct price and refund my card.
This led me to the following conclusions:
a) What an enormous ballache! If the post comes at it's normal half two today then I can't go this morning as the Ticket Office shuts at midday. So it's queue before the game on Tuesday or make a second trip down on Saturday morning.
b) The ticket office likes making extra work for itself
c) The tickets obviously aren't selling very well!
Now hats off to them for coming up with a scheme to try and encourage the extra crowds to come but shoes off to how they've done it!
