I don't know owt about this fella really, Villa talk forums slating him and can't wait to get shut! It does not appear to be a very promising signing if it happens after reading some of their shite tbh.
 

I can see Sharp and McGoldrick starting - if we fall behind move McGoldrick back to CAM and replace Fleck with Hogan.

To be honest if they read our opinions on Leon, they would get the same conclusions. “He’s been a good servant but well past his best”.

Read the start of that thread, before he signed they thought he’d be going to PL club over them.

He's only signing on loan at the end of the day, so if it doesn't work out then he goes back at the end of the season.

Even Brian Deane had bad reviews when we signed him I seem to recall! Donny thought they'd done well to get £40,000 and he was a lanky streak of wee wee and weak on the ball!

The crucial bit is if we can get Hogan back to his Brentford best then we've got one hell of a player. If not then he could still be a handful even then.

Other than Oliver Norwood, which Chris Wilder signing were we excited about happening before he got here?

They're all shit until they get a little dose of CWAK
 

If he can rediscover this form then, wow, he could play a major part in getting us promoted.

We play a similar way to Brentford did then and I can see Norwood Duffy & Dowell picking off some lovey passes through with those intelligent forward runs he makes

Before his injuries it's hard to think of a player below the premier league who would suit our style more. He likes the ball on the ground to get involved in quick passing movements. The goals he scores are generally cut backs on the floor in the penalty area, or through balls in which he can use his clever movement and acceleration to go through on goal and finish. The questions: Is he still that player and, if so, why is his former manager at Brentford prepared to let him go?

Well from that he looks like he's got some pace, which is what we've been lacking in!
 
The bottom line is if Hogan was firing for Villa, Utd would have no chance of signing such a player. CW has a knack of identifying and recruiting players whose stock is low (and thus affordable to Utd) and then enabling them to improve.

Utd couldn't afford Madine, Norwood, Egan or McGoldrick 12 months ago but they've all since joined.

At Brentford he played in the same team as John Egan several times.
He’ll also know Egan and Stevens from his time in the Rep of Ireland squad.

Jos was made a mug of there, it's all coming from the guy up top, unfortunately most piggies can't see this and many still see him as a messiah and can't wait to prove their pigginess via club 1867 purchases.

There are refunds (and will be), if the club don't sell the targeted amount of memberships (rumoured to be in the 0000s).
