I can see Billy and Hogan being rotated on a regular basis, to keep both fresh and hungry. Ultimately, the best starting eleven will evolve.

Regardless of what you think of our current ownership issues they've backed Wilder in this JTW - We will be paying a decent amount of Hogan and Madine's wages.

Two seasons ago: Hanson / Carruthers / Jay O'shea?
One year ago: Wilson / Holmes / Leonard
This season: Dowell / Hogan and Madine

I have no doubt that we're going up under Wilder even if its not this season

Let's hope that the monkey on the shoulder, which is the High Court appearance of the two Ronnies in May doesn't fk it all up

If it did ffs, would it actually surprise anyone? I know it wouldn't me

Which I understand, but that contradicts your second answer which is that he isn’t a squad player. Surely, he doesn’t play alongside sharp, therefore will be used as a replacement.

Which I have no issue with, other than it’s a lot of money to pay in wages for a bench player.
There all squad players, it depends who's in form and who were playing against. If Hogan and sharp are both scoring/playing well they will both start, if they aren't they will be on the bench. Same goes for the other forwards

When Fleck goes to West Ham for £500k and the privilege of a pre-season friendly at the London stadium, we could play;

Henderson
Basham - Egan - O'Connell
Baldock Norwood Stevens
Duffy - McGoldrick
Sharp - Hogan
;)

All of our possible strike combinations are viable partnerships.

They are indeed. Best two for the game ahead get the shirt. Not only that, Tufty likes a striker sub or two so all are likely to grace the Desso quite a lot. It may even be that Sharp doesn’t start every game.

True.

I can think of someone who’s “blind spot” could get on board with that !!

Touché :);).

Do they even have a rumour to cling on to? I thought there was cash to spend?

We've a great opportunity to put a fucking chasm between us and them, never mind a gap.

I think to say he can can come in and play alongside sharp would hugely discredit the amazing season McGoldrick is having. McGoldrick and sharp are first pick - don’t think anyone would disagree with that. My argument would be that Madine is the natural replacement for McGoldrick, which leaves little room for hogan unless he plays the sharp role. I aren’t saying he can’t play alongside Sharp but it would seem unlikely under the current set up, and the only available slot would be off Madine/McGoldrick e.g. the ‘Sharp role’.

Maybe he and sharp can strike a great partnership but I see little opportunity for this to even flourish due to already having two more natural support strikers for sharp.

I don’t quite see it that way. Madine is an alternative to Clarke - both are used for aerial and physical presence up front. McGoldrick, to me, is not an out and out striker, even though he’s deployed in that role. He’s more of an attacking midfielder. However, he’s the best partner for Sharp, given his utility.

Washington and Johnston are our options with pace. Neither are serious competition for Sharp and McGoldrick from what little we’ve seen of them so far.

Sharp has no real competition as far as I can see at present. No one else at the club has that level of instinctive finishing skills. He’s the ultimate box player.

Hogan, if he was to join us, would be closer to Sharp in terms of what he can contribute to the team. And that wouldn’t be a bad conundrum to have. I suspect he would be played alongside Sharp in McGoldrick’s position, or in place of Sharp if Sharp is subbed/injured/retired/sold.

Please let him score the winner in the Derby lol

you know fate of football. 1st of all we have billy Sharp who is on fire but never scored in a derby, gary madine ex wednesday & as you say potienally hogan who has said how disgrunted he was with steve bruce who has no taken over at the rivals

somethings going to give
