With our penchant for signing players from over the border, might I suggest a bid in January for the man described by his Manager as currently the best striker in Scottish football ( What does that say about Scottish football ?). Ladies & Gents, I give you Michael O'Halloran !!!!

Kidding. I've not seen the kid play since he had a loan spell with (I think) Carlisle after us. He had pace to burn and could dribble (and was a good height) but his decision making was absolutely atrocious and seemed to have a suspect attitude. If he resolved those issues, there is a chance he could be a decent player

But having just had a look and seeing he's not scored a league goal all season and has only scored 10 in 63 games in total, I think I'd like a drink of what his gaffer is on.

Obviously hit a bit of a purple patch Dane, but was very disappointing in his loan spell to us. Lets hope our scouting North of the border has cooled somewhat. Talking of Scotland, maybe we would have been better selling Scougs to Rangers and keeping Holt, similar players in my opinion except the latter seems to know where the back of the net is.

2015 Steven Davies. He was a better player though. Just not prolific.

Davies broke the trend. He exceeded my expectations as I expected him to get injured and not score at all, whereas he started quite well and didn't miss a game. Still think he would have been a bad permanent signing, but Clough leaving saved us from that.

He was 2012's Shocking Loan Striker Who Doesn't Score Goals.

Other recent holders of the crown:

2011: Marcus Bent
2013: Dominic Poleon
2014: Billy Paynter

Marcus Bent had scored a grand total of 14 goals in the previous FIVE years, when he came to us, Poleon has now scored 14 goals in three years. Billy Paynter had scored 13 goals at Doncaster Rovers before coming to us. Which is almost 14. What is it about this cursed number, 14, and Sheffield United!!!! ;)
