Scotland Fans Views On Oli McBurnie

Obvious bias and agendas aside.

£20m ? Seriously ?????

He’s good in the air. I’ll give him that. And he does appear to be able to direct headers won, which is a HUGE improvement on the various 50p heads we have previously had 😉

But the speed at which his feet move is worryingly slow, which has a serious knock on effect to any number of other key footballing attributes that you would want a £20m striker to have.

I’ll spare everyone going through the entire list, suffice to say it remains a concern IF he is to be our main #9 this season !!

Good to see you’re all prepared with your next one, as soon as Clarke leaves. :)

yes but everyone in Scotland seems to hate Rangers.. i was up in Scotland as you know for a couple of years and the Rangers lads were top drawer .. the Celtic lot though were a set of w@nkers IME

Did you meet anyone who supported one of the other 40 teams in the Scottish leagues?

This thread has become very ugly. Or maybe, having been born in Scotland, I'm just feeling it a bit close to the bone.

I imagine if I were someone who had just moved down to Sheffield and was looking for a team, based on this thread, I would avoid the Blades. Ironically, it is due to the bitterness of some of these responses claiming that the Scots are bitter about something.

Been around long enough to know the majority are not hateful in the way S4-blade's comment comes across, but quite a lot of similar, if less vitriolic comments which I didn't really expect to see, especially considering the Scottish national team, and Scottish football's relative irrelevance (both to the Blades and to football in general).

Sometimes the agenda’s that the poster seems to drive cannot be ignored when reading a post.

You’re in particular seems to be strikers over 6 foot.
You’re never short of an opinion either. Looking to break any posting records at all (most in least time ?).

The 6 foot thing being a particularly comical one of your offerings, albeit the list is distinguished 😉👍.

Seems that way yes. I’m not sure if it was an obvious comment or just background chatter picked up on the mic, but at this level everyone at the club needs to be cuter. It’s done nobody any favours.

Hand in front of mouth while talking and speak in whispers, bloody cameras and mikes pick up everything at this level.

Good to see you’re as good as ever at playing the poster, and not the post 😉.
You clearly have an agenda, ( a ridiculous issue with taller men) and a need for a scapegoat (forming significant opinion with a tiny amount of evidence).

That’s your choice, and not me playing you. I just speak as I find.

Always makes me wonder who goes to watch Scotland. With the Irish Tri-colour prevalent at Parkhead and the Union flag (and red hand flag) at Ibrox and the same over in Edinburgh.......Maybe the “tartan army” are all Inverness Cally Thistle fans?

I saw BTL on the Guardian, one commenter put 'McBurnie invisible again'.

It's like Clough and McNulty, even when McBurnie doesn't play he gets blamed.

Interesting this thread. Started out as Scottish fans views on Mcburnie and turned into Blades fans views on Mcburnie. People are far too hasty to form an opinion at this early stage. He's only made 5 appearances for us, 3 off the bench and has been both good (Leicester), average (Chelsea) and poor(Blackburn). Let's see how he performs as a regular starter with a regular strike partner. It's too early to say we paid too much for him but also too early to say he's the full package. Let's hope it's the latter.

Nobody really hates the Scots but we do love to see them in their role as perennial failures.

Years of frustration from Scottish fans with them blaming Mcburnie as he’s an English Scot. No one gives us a chance in the Premier too and it’s no wonder that McBurnie is their fall guy.
In a league that’s dominated by Celtic and the global attraction of the English Premier the failure of their national team is a sore point. I still remember their delight in beating England after the World Cup and breaking the Wembley goalposts. Their team has descended into mediocrity and the likes of the other British teams and ROE prove to have more resilience and success.

If we hadn't signed McBurnie, the majority on here would be
overjoyed at his Scottish failures, thanking The Lord
that we hadn't signed a bearded donkey.

I'm seeing on SSN that Swansea are turning down £15m for Oli MCBurnie and are looking for £20m. This can't be the same guy who has looked piss poor playing for Scotland? Is it? £15m? £20m?

He’s a hun.
Add to the list of players I’d like to see receive career enders soon.

What about mcburnie what did folk think of his efforts? For me he seemed unfit, or just slow and out of his depth completely.

Mcburnie has one o them Muslim beards.
Worth the watching IMO.

McBurnie and O’Donnell were laughably shite last night. The rest were just the normal amount of shite.

I thought he looked remarkably like Catweazel.

Shocking performance (first 10 mins aside).
McBurnie in particular is utterly woeful.
Might not bother going on Monday now.

Sooo supposedly everyone is saying McBurnie is shite because you guessed it, he’s a rangers man and we all hate the rangers.
Fucking hilarious!

McBurnie is honestly garbage. We may as well get Levein back and not bother with a number 9 because none of them are up to it. A stable of utter dross.
