We've lost only one of our nine league games since Shrewsbury and accumulated 16 points in the process.

It's not like David Weir's the manager and we're heading for relegation. We're actually challenging for the Play Offs, and have put in some decent performances of late. I'd hate to see how the fans would react if we actually were in the relegation zone.

We're 9th in league one having not signed a player in the JTW despite our manager admitting our side wasn't good enough for promotion and having glaring squad deficiencies since pre season.

I'd hate to see how far we'd have to sink before some fans became concerned.

I suspect if we concede first then the song we joined in with at their place will make an appearance again - "we're fucking shit" - embarrassing to say the least, but sadly true.

very true.. but i was extrapolating from our current position

We still wouldn't be too far off. We averaged just under 1.8 points per game over the past nine, which would see us on 67 - almost enough to match 6th-placed Chesterfield last season (69) and Bournemouth a few seasons ago (71).

If you go on the past 10 league games including Shrewsbury instead of the past 9, we'd probably miss out on 64 or 65 points. That's similar our full season form. 42 points from 28 games gives 1.5 points per game, so on the season form to date we get another 21 points and finish on 63. I prefer to look at the past 9 as Shrewsbury was the watershed where we abandoned the free-flowing plan and tightened up the defence.

Whatever, we do need to up the points-per-game average somewhat. A win against Wigan will be a start.

Prospect of negative, uninspiring football; of ever-improving Wigan giving us a footballing lesson; of us dropping out of the top 10; of Sam Morsy scoring on his Wigan debut...

Perfect Storm Alert!

To be honest on the Kop I found it more Toxic last season than this, this year has so far been a dull acceptance punctuated by moments of gallows humour. Could be different Saturday of course.

I have got to say, nothing last season came close to what it like against Shrewsbury before half time when we conceded another goal, prompting the "you're not fit to wear the shirt" chants etc.

Great isn't it that fans are discussing if we can even support the manger financially, so much for this "game changing investment"

Oh it's definitely been game changing.......just not the game changing we expected.

Call me old fashioned, however I would prefer to win than protest against the board
I remember playing against Wolves at home just after we had sold Deane and Fjortoft in January 1998, the crowd remained positive and we won with a goal by Marcelo. Hope that the team and NA will get the same backing this Saturday

From our current position that form would give us 74 points, which would have been enough to get us a play off position in every season since our relegation to this division.

We have got 16 points from our last 9 games. We have 18 games to go, so at that same rate we would get 32 points from those 18 games. We currently have 42 points. 42 + 32 = 74.

You're right, for some reason I was thinking we had less games to play.

Blimey if it's toxic in the "family" stand we have got problems.
Often a lot of swearing and abuse in the "family", no respect for the kids at all. Be the westfield for us this weekend as i fear language will be far worse than usual in John St.

I think Hammond will get sent off.
