• on the Gallowgate, Newcastle boxing day 1971, like the Geordies we were wearing crombie overcoats, doc Martens etc. David Ford scored and it all kicked off - any one who remembers Newcastle fans then will know what I mean

Ford didnt play in the 2-1 win at Newcastle . Scullion (21 secs) and Currie scored our goals.

Ford scored in the 1-0 home fixture after coming on as sub in April 1972

Unfortunately I was on their kop also in '79, stood with a Pig mate (no seating back then) & it was my worse ever experience watching United (well the Givens penalty v Walsall was pretty bad as well). I remember wearing a white zip up jacket with red & blue stripes down the sleeves & insisted on wearing my red & white scarf underneath, albeit covered under the zip, & I was getting so wound up by what I was seeing on the pitch & as the third goal went in I heard one of their lot say "I can't see any of their lot on the kop, wankers" nearby, & in a moment of madness unzipped my top to show my scarf & said "go fuck yourself" or something like that. Now let me qualify that I was no hard man with no fear, but I was just so pissed off I didn't care. Anyway, other than a brief struggle no blows were landed by anyone & I stayed to the end. Funny thing was that walking out of the ground & up Parkside Rd the Wendies were getting loads of stick from the Blades held on the other side of the road by the police, including me as they presumed I was one, I unzipped my top & waved my scarf to a huge cheer. It was the first time I had smiled since kick off!

Bert also stood on their Kop that fateful day, he was halfway up Herries Rd by the time the 4th one went in.

Only a couple for me. 2003 Liverpool away, sat with the blades fans to my right. If that free kick at the end had gone in instead of hitting the bar I think we might have been spotted.

Was in the City end this season. Got hit by a coin thrown from the united end. Almost jumped up when mousset scored. Think people around me knew.

Bournemouth away this season - although it seems a LOT longer ago than that!

I was called William Hopper for 90 or so minutes that day......the name on the ticket that I was lucky enough to ‘acquire’.

My seat was near the front of the stand behind the goal, adjacent to the brilliantly loud Blades fans.

It wasn’t difficult staying quiet, as hardly anybody spoke in my stand the entire afternoon, apart from a polite round of applause when the home team scored. Pathetic support.

However, I’ll never know how I managed to stay seated when Billy scored his late equaliser a matter of feet in front of me. Watching the absolute pandemonium on the away end was a joy to behold.
