I had a wager with my son before the game on when we would hear the first moans for Berge. I was spot on with 7 minutes. Some of our fan-base are unreal. I think the only problem Berge has is his price tag, and that is not his fault. In my opinion, Berge was only second best to Egan last night and only second best to Robinson on Saturday.

Ndiaye has not been playing to his own high standards the last few games, but you never hear a bad word against him, even when running into brick walls trying to get through three defenders.

His game is all about keeping posession and picking the right pass which he did last night just because he isnt lightning fast and slows the play down does not make him bad! As Hecky pointed out, the goal came about because of Berge’s intelligent run, pulling the full back inside & creating the space for McAtee. Without that run, the goal wouldn’t have happened. Lowe was also involved with his first time ball into Ndiaye. This is the sort of stuff that you don’t see.

So here is the problem in a nutshell. Some on here like that Sander is composed and has a skill level above most others on the pitch. On the other side of the debate is that he is continually out shined by Doyle and McAtee and this is down to one issue alone. That is the fact that for portions of each match he disappears. He quite often gives a pass when coming up field with the ball and most of the time he just stops instead of running for a return pass or running to stretch the defense. Maybe for some the price is the issue but not for me. Any negative comments about him are usually directed to work rate.

N'Diaye always puts in a shift even though he overplays the ball and does not look up enough.
Some think he will be snapped up by an established Premier League club. I am doubtful on that score. Some say Sander is an international and has played in the Champions league. That bar isn't very high though. Conor Sammon was an international too.

Now you may think that I know fuck all about football and you are entitled to that opinion and you maybe right. In my view which is based on coaching both kids and Adults across 3 sports and at my age the amount of games I have seen. Leads me to conclude that Sander under performing against his skillset most weeks.

I get the frustrations some have with him, but I think that’s because he isn’t the type of player they want him to be. That’s not his fault, it just isn’t what he is. But I’m very happy with what he is and what he’s becoming, and his tactical intelligence is probably above anyone else in our squad. Maybe enjoy what he is rather than mump about him not being what he isn’t.

Know what you mean ,but as he hasnt really stood out in the champ he might find it difficult to get a game regular in prem , specially if Heck gets a bit o brass to spend and prioritises midfield .Just want him to be the best he can whilst playing for us

I'm not sure him in a midfield two in the PL is the way forward though, probably further forward.

It will be interesting to watch Berge again after hearing his thoughts on SUTV. Maybe the way he's been playing is the way he's being asked to play?

Keep the ball, keep it tight, build the pressure. Sure he's not been 'dominating' the other team as we'd like, but maybe he's been asked to play in the right areas and let Illi and McAtee take the ball more. It's certainly working.

If we get promoted, hopefully we will and it's looking good now, I fear for how the fans will be with Berge next season because we're gonna be in a scrap every week and if Berge is having a quiet game as he does at times then the fans won't accept what they perceive as a lack of running. It's harsh in a way on Berge as he just isn't that type of player but I'd also like to see him battle more off the ball. His quality though could well be the difference at times next season.

Maybe we could buy another Norwegian international who gets stuck in and leave Berge to do his stuff!

Modern football. It's always a relief when an opposing players takes a shot from 20 or 25 yards out. What generally ends up happening is after being under pressure we get unchallenged possession and a chance to build and create.

Next time the Big Lad gets to the edge of the box and doesn't aimlessly twat it into the crowd at the frenzied behest of the "Shooooot"ers, who then scream and shout and chuck their toys out of the pram, I'll be quietly reflecting on his Norwegian words of wisdom here.

What he says make sense though regarding the chaos and being drawn into the way the other team want to play. We know teams in this league if they can make the game scrappy it limits the amount of time your better players or better passing players have on the ball.
