As a Norwegian curious to see how the Berge news is being received by Utd fans, this thread has made my day.
Usually when scouting forums, especially among larger clubs, it is a cesspool of pure venom and ill intentions.
Here the venom flows just as heavily, but is intriguingly coated with a Monthy Python'esque dripping sarcasm and a self irony that is hilarious - and very likeable.
Oh and the venom here probably stems from all the proclaimed wanking that has been going on as speculations grew into rumours and then into confirmed deal.

Congratulations on a great signing - and my main reason for dropping a note here was to beg you to continue this tone in the forum, even asyou may be growing into a club with greater resources - and hopefully greater success..

PS. He pronounces his name Berg-eh - the e at the end is not silent.
Thanks!
I've only got one complaint about your post. Your use of english and ability to construct a friendly, well thought out post makes lots of our forum posters look like half-wits ;)

Dont worry. If you read it with the same Norwegian accent you just heard from Berge in his "up the blades" - which I carry in loads, especially after a few pints - I lose all semblance of coherence.

Just tried to sign him on Football Manager.

He wanted £88k per week, wanted to use us a stepping stone, demanded we play him in his natural position, demanded to be made vice captain and demanded we sign a compatriot to help him settle.

I fucked him off.

John Lundstram gave me a like.

His wages are much more affordable on FIFA 20.

Love his use of “we” when referring to Blades. I’ve had a few beers may have misheard

Will this transfer window eventually make up for Deane/Fjortoft being sold on the same day in 1997?

As a Norwegian curious to see how the Berge news is being received by Utd fans, this thread has made my day.

We are the most underperforming big club in England. In fact doubt there’s another club in Europe that has won NOTHING and never been in a cup final this side of the war. We’ve never been in Europe either so we dream about playing 1 match in the Europa Cup.

We are very humble because we’ve been shit for many years. So this signing is quite incredible for us because it shows we have ambition to challenge. Chris Wilder is a winner and isn’t afraid of reputations, think he’ll genuinely be thinking about finishing near the top of the league.

Basically Sheff United have arrived.

The two ff's aren't silent either. 😁

I think most Blades can see how McBurnie is now showing what he did for Swansea last season. There's a minority of fans that still are yet to be convinced but fans always expect players to hit the ground running and yet there's been countless occasions where it's took a few months, maybe even longer for a player to show his worth. A few that spring to mind Paul Devlin, Jamie Murphy and John Lundstram.
......and Couttsy and K Freeman and, to be fair Bashambaur a little bit.

Three years ago we were banging on about how signing Ethan Ebanks-Landell would be essential for the next few seasons ahead.

Fuck me boys what a ride.

I thought Ebanks-Landell was out of our league and probably too good for us.
Last season I noticed he was playing at MK Dons and this season he’s playing for Shrewsbury......incredible how we’ve progressed In record time.
Always makes me feel sad for any Blades who died 4 years ago as they will have never known what was around the corner regards our club.
Chris Wilder is a miracle worker and will never be forgotten.

As good as that is, I still prefer the Men at work version that was on here earlier. He might not be from Brussels (I checked like a sad like and Genk is a separate city - who cares) but its still a brilliant song! For those that didn't see:

Sander Berge, he’s (I think is not he's works slightly better) the man from Brussels
6’4 and full of muscles
I said do you speak-a my language
He just smiled and gave me a greasy chip sandwich!

Genius!
Could you not just change it to one of:
Sander Berge, played in Brussels (they lost 2-0 most recently there so perhaps best not to mention that); or
Sander Berge played near Brussels (1 hour 2 minutes away by public transport according to google maps. Is that near?)?
I don't know...
It's a great song. Shame to see it not happen.
