Isn't it against the rules to approach a player before the clubs have agreed a deal/got permission from the selling club?

Danny Murphy was on Talksport one evening the other day and be said he was approached by representatives from a club every time he was sold. They asked about his current salary and if he was interested in going to x club for x salary.

He joked that often the club contactIng him was offering lower wages but regular football. He said he took a pay cut to join Spurs.

The co presenter asked if that was illegal. He tried to defend it....said it’s common sense...a club needs to know if that player is interested and get a rough agreement ion wages before approaching the selling club. He said that as far as he’s aware it happens for every transfer.....buying clubs need to contact the player first.

To be fair Loughboro, Morsy looked quality last night but I suspect the quality of opposition, or lack of, played a part.

I watched the whole of the 2nd half and have to admit Morsey looked a quality player....best player on the pitch.

I’m still excited by the fact that everyone’s just going to call him Beer Gardens.

You fill up my senses
Like a gallon of peroni
Down the beer gardens
Where there’s a Burger King
Allez Allez Allez!!

Technically yes. But only yesterday Danny Murphy admitted on the radio that he’d always been tapped up before a move. He reckons all players are quietly tapped up because otherwise you go through the whole process with the other club just for the player to potentially turn round and say ‘I’m not interested’.

Joking aside, he is a good player and I'm sure he would have made a difference at the time had we signed him.
