Any links to the interview or not yetRichard Sutcliffe of the Athletic has just said on RS that the offer that Brugge have had on the table for a few weeks he believes is 17 million euros (£14.6 million) plus add ons. He isn't aware of them, increasing this offer before to-day. If we are still entertaining talking around figures as low as this at this late stage then I agree it smacks of last minute desperation and undoes all the good work of the transfer window so far.
After suggesting through various channels we were looking as a minimum to recover what we paid for him anything less will undermine confidence in the Board amongst the fan base and is likely to affect the feel good factor that the manager and his team have created so far. Its good that a replacement is being lined up but letting a key player go on the last day of the window for considerably less than what we valued him at will lead to serious questions once again about the capability of the people the club employs to negotiate deals.
The varying transfer window closure times don't help. Brugge will hold all the cards if we let negotiations go beyond the 11 p.m cut off date for the EFL window closure. We could be in a situation where we have committed £5 million for Kone and not agreed a fee for Berge. For that reason alone our negotiating team must pull the plug on any deal tonight if a fee can not be negotiated. The words of Stephen Bettis may also come back to haunt him " We don't need to sell"
Where's a Daniel Levy when you need him.
Conversely, we could say to Brugge if you don't agree 20 million before 11pm we can't sign Kone and the deals off!Richard Sutcliffe of the Athletic has just said on RS that the offer that Brugge have had on the table for a few weeks he believes is 17 million euros (£14.6 million) plus add ons. Nah, surely those two are ripe for last minute panic buying by Newcastle. On another note, seems like Watford are keeping Pedro and sarr, bastards
I don’t think there would be a ‘rumour mill’ thread if people can’t speculate. Close down most conversations too.I probably could and I’ve ignored several of your similar comments today. You don’t need to keep repeating something that could be completely untrue
Good, if they wanted him we could get a decent priceNah, surely those two are ripe for last minute panic buying by Newcastle.
Probably Sander as well, come to think of it![]()
I appreciate thatThink what he meant is that you're Interpretation of events was quite vaginal
Can you explain how that will happen with funds going into our coffers? We don’t own UW, The Prince does, so how is he going to transfer between the two without us spotting it?I suspect it means it's evident we're desperate to prop them up so we'll sell cheap
Maybe we have said thatConversely, we could say to Brugge if you don't agree 20 million before 11pm we can't sign Kone and the deals off!
Exactly. And get knocked out quickly as well.Fuckin wank. Sorry but what’s point in this move for Sander? Couple of champions league matches then playing in that league week in week out.
He was speaking with Staton on football heaven. RS not posted link yet.Any links to the interview or not yet
The standard of Canadian football won't be anywhere near Championship level
Questionable from him. Obviously seen that he’s been offered a big wage increase but still.Exactly. And get knocked out quickly as well.
Canada as a national team did just qualify for the World Cup for the first time since forever, and Kone's club play in the MLS, but other than that you've got it bang to rights
If’s and buts and if’s and buts…JesusIF Sander goes it will IMO be a dreadful decision by the club hours before the window shuts.
We cannot be in a position where we need money right now. We are set for a serious shout at automatic promotion and losing an asset of Sanders quality is classic self harm. At least keep him till January and if we don't look like contenders then let him go. He isn't stupid. If we go up he has way more options as a Premier league player rather than a backward step which a return to Belgium most certainly is. If we sign Kone it looks like Coulibaly #2 without an injury. The standard of Canadian football won't be anywhere near Championship level. I really hope all this speculation, uncertainty and disappointment proves baseless. If ever the club should repel all offers short of the release fee this is it. Top of the league and looking better every game.
Given everything is still speculation why would any poster make statements of fact. Yea, it's ifs and buts till he goes or dosen't. Be nice if we did this.....If’s and buts and if’s and buts…Jesus![]()
I think they are missing a trick not doing an EFL transfer centre on one of the other channelsBecause SSN are busy repeating the same stories about the Prem teams and ignoring the other teams in this country.
They had Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink on earlier and they asked him one question about Burton Albion and then moved on to 10 minutes of questions about Chelsea and Leeds.
