I'd be shocked if anybody was willing to pay £20m+ on the back of his time with us.
I actually think £12m might be about his true valuation at this stage.
He's a cracking talent, with a lot of potential, but there's still a lot of uncertainty around him. You wouldn't be 100% confident that he would deliver value at £20m.

I don't think he is suited to English football The only way to sell him for decent money is to sell him abroad. A pity Norway are not in the world Cup finals as that could have increased his profile.

Newcastle are embarking on a the period in history city were a decade ago and Chelsea were 2 decades ago. We could scalp them for £20m easy.

People saying he’s worth less now than he was when we signed him seem to ignore than £20m get you fuck all seemingly nowadays

OK....

Keep him, don't go up (probable), sell him for 7 million, waste another season and damage his career even more than we already have

Or....

Sell him for 15m+ now, sign two good players to replace him, with plenty to spare, and have no less chance of going up

Berge needs to leave for his own sake, the championship is a joke place for him to be

What if nobody offers us £15+ million?

We'll still be able to get substantially more than in a years time with no promotion or contract extension

Lad must be playing well
I’ve made plenty of complimentary posts on several threads. But I was more drawn to the controversy of those offering ridiculous excuses for his previous non performance.

When he plays well, I say so. He ended the season really well. I just wasn’t fooled by the huge fee like some (cough) were. :)

I think the only way we could profit would be to do a 2-1 swap with a club where the 2 players are what we need in specific areas. Like a striker and a defender or midfielder and defender.

I think a deal which sees a player coming in would be a good idea.

So Wolves give us £10mil and MGW. 👍

Fook me… folk on here willing to let our biggest asset go for 12mil! … In todays market!
I can’t believe what I read on here half the time!
Same idiots wanting to swap him for Newcastles 3rd choice keeper at the start of the season 😂😂

Personally love the comments saying he’s not suited to English football 😂.

How much do you think we could get?

I reckon we'll get £8-10 million with a shedload of add ons. Played the last year in the English second division after a season of relegation. Still you and talented. I suspect we're going to limited in what we can get but the basic fee isn't always the only consideration. We do have him until summer 25 though so I guess his wages might be the key factor in accepting any offers.

Not suited to English football, yet regularly brushes past players with ease.

Let's sell him for 12 million and get some Monty & Doyle workhorses instead.

Whatever us Blades would like to happen, if he wants to go we should cash in while we can and try to raise some much needed transfer funds, I'm sure we'd get a fair price for him now McCabe isnt accepting packets of crisps and a friendly for pur best assetts. Who knows what a fair fee is in the current climate, I'll bet you its gone down since last season though.

That being said, if he's open to staying, we'd all be delighted, although we'd run the risk of losing him on a free

Our fans sometimes 😂.

Get upset when we don’t sign someone, get upset when we sell someone and now get upset that we’re not selling hands down our best player and suggest we off him on the cheap because in their heads he’s unhappy and wants to leave 😂

Here’s an idea, build the team round him and win promotion 👍. We have a better chance of that than selling him and trying to go up.

I just don't get the build a team around him bit.
He has some skill but a handful of good games since he came here is a poor return on our investment and that is accounting for his long absence through injury.

Many on this site were stating that that losing both MGW and Berge, our season is doomed and no chance of promotion. MGW has gone and there's nowt we can about it. Now there is a slim chance that Berge may stay for this coming season, fans are now squabbling about that and working out what price would be realistic if we sell. Most players get serious injuries during their career, that's the pitfall of being a professional footballer. He has shown since his comeback the quality he has and if we can keep hold of him for at least another season, I'm sure it will be pay dividends. Our main priority this transfer windows is, keep Berge and replace MGW.

Why on earth would we sell someone who might have a tidy but mostly ineffective game ten times a season?

Fucking crackers some people.

If you can't see he's been one of our best players this season, I don't know what to say.
If you put a £20M+ player in your team to play in the Championship, he's got to dominate. I don't want to see him be one of our best players, I want to see him take the absolute piss.

There's little chance (ok, why hedge, there's no chance) that any club outside of England will pay even £5m for him, and I'd like to know which clubs in England would even stump up the sort of transfer fee that's being mentioned on this thread?

Realistically, there are two - Bournemouth and whoever wins the Play off final.

How long is his contract? Because he'll be here next season.
