Outgoing? SANDER BERGE ON WAY OUT ?

It’s not even that really. They didn’t spend big, just spent very well. Vardy wasn’t a big buy for a championship club, Mahrez and Kante were cheap for PL signings. They just dropped lucky that they all suited the style of play and all hit form at the same time, in a season when the big clubs were in transition. It’s almost unrepeatable. I doubt we’ll see anything similar for decades. The big spending came after they’d won the PL. I think most of that was generated from prize money, champions league money and the sale of Kante, Drinkwater and then Mahrez the following season. Then they managed to make a ridiculous profit on Maguire.

To claim that the death of five people in a helicopter crash is some kind of divine retribution for something they didn’t do and had no responsibility for, is just bizarre, ill-informed, offensive nonsense. We all chat shit at times, sometimes it’s best just to hold your hands up, say ‘misjudgment’ and move on, not dig in and compound your mistake by repeating it.
My casual impression of Leicester's history since 2002 was inaccurate + I have changed my view of the Foxes as a result of corrective reaction on here.
My own inacurracy prompted a reference which was in unacceptably poor taste.
I apologise.

Slav is apparently happy with Berge and Ramsdale, having spoken to them both and watched their first 45 minutes under him.
Slav does not want to sell either player, but that decision now rests with the club.

saw the same interview. Even said something along the lines of he’d be ‘surprised and hurt’ if they left.

Starting to think they both stay for the time being. If this happens fair play to the board, clearly we have a better chance of promotion with these two in the starting XI.

However, will no doubt get sold in Jan if we arent in with a shout of promotion, and definitely go in the summer if we don't go up.

Sorry I told you to "Fuck off!" You can fuck back here again.

Why? We haven't seen it really yet - CW dictated all the recruitment previously.

I just feel like our recruitment seems sluggish at times. We tend to do a lot of our business late in the window. New players will need time to adapt to our system and familiarize themselves with how our players play.

If we were to move on Rammers or Berge, I would have done it early in the window and not waited till the start of the season. I'm hoping we hold onto both players now. If we decide to move them - wait till January and line up replacements ahead of time.

We have wilder had final say and according to the owner would focus in on one target to the exclusion of all others but the apparatus which recommended those targets is still very much the same Mitchell is still head of scouting and we haven’t added any new personnel alongside him. We might not be as narrow in our approach and the manager might be picking for a shortlist rather than having only one target but the process of arriving at that shortlist is the same now as it was under wilder hence the almost exclusively domestic rumours.

I'm scared shitless to sell either Berge or Rammers. I don't have faith in the recruitment system right now.
The same recruitment system (more or less) that brought these players to the club in the first place

We do have the United World scouting team in place
Isnt there a head of recruitment for the whole group ?

I would expect Rip Van Winkle to have overall responsibility for recruitment throughout the whole group as the conduit between the individual clubs scouting network and the Prince I e main board

If we sell Berge, it will be up there with a Deane, Fjortoft and Beattie type disappointment for me.

If he has a release clause and it’s matched the it’s out of the clubs hands

If we sell him for say £25 million then it’s poor from us

The bloke will be the best midfielder in the championship by a way

£35 mill or go for a swim in the river don

There were some muddled press releases out of chateroux this summer (probably due to the translation) about them hiring a new scout who said he was looking forward to working across the United world group but it seems that our and beerschot’s recruitment is still headed up by Mitchell and van winkle respectively at least this summer as neither club has seen a change in approach.

All the rumours and links for us have been exclusively domestic apart from the lad from Peru. A cohesive and joined up scouting network should in theory be a benefit of United world but thus far there’s no evidence of it yet being in place. In truth we’ve yet to see any benefits from the United world project other than negotiating the commercial deal with yelo and that’s something that has to start changing pretty sharpish imo. Ultimately progression in sport is linked to securing competitive advantages and currently United world hasn’t done that for us. The project should be starting to move out of its infancy now and there’s been precious little interaction between the clubs.

Yeah but how can we control what other teams bid ?
If arsenal decide on deadline day that there gonna pay £35 for Berge & £40 mill for rammers what can we do ?

It’s a food chain it’s the exact same as to say if we were gonna buy someone from another team and decided on the last day to buy there player

I suppose its early days with regards to the United World scouting network, we may see the benefits in the January transfer window plus Slav has to see our current squad and make his mind up what he needs even though he will have done plenty of work in that regard before he came

With it looking like we won’t budge on the £40m price tag for rammers and no club looking remotely interested in berge for £35m, it genuinely looks like we’ll be seeing those two next season and I cant wait

Maybe we’ll see I don’t think we’ll see it next year I think we’d be looking at next year at the earliest if that even is what we’re doing it could be a purely commercial arrangement

Even if its £80m, I'll be disappointed. I don't want him to leave

He walks us this league. That’s how highly I rate him. Against Donny he was so ridiculously overpowered, he resembled an U23 playing in an U12 game.

Football has moved on, especially in the loan market. The PLelite have to do their business and then loans trickle down the football pyramid

Same as us really we’ve only just begun the process of loaning jebbison and seriki our and you’d assume there’s more to follow but for any kind of decent prospects teams want to have a good look at them during preseason before sending them out.

Said it a while back, a fully fit Berge on his game is far too good to be playing in the second tier.
