Outgoing? SANDER BERGE ON WAY OUT ?

You don’t know the player wants to move on. And in answer to your question, yes I do.

My opinion is simple: Berge has had a serious injury, hasn’t shown his fitness and even if he scores five goals every game cannot get more expensive, so no one is paying £35m for him this summer.

United don’t want to sell because they want to go back up, so won’t accept a penny less.

therefore he stays. I await being proven wrong, which obviously I could be at any point in the next two months haha.

Ok, let's agree to disagree and see what happens. As much as I'd love him (and Ramsdale) to stay, I just can't see it and suspect interest (and offers) will intensify as the end of the transfer window approaches. UTB

Not saying it can't won't happen but would we be putting out 20 minute videos of someone we are potentially going to be letting go in the foreseeable future ,not sure berge or the club would be keen on this sort of thing if he was pushing to leave .

Having watched the Road to Recovery video, I respect the lad even more than before.

To move to an unknown country, in lockdown and with no social ties as a young lad is almost unthinkable. To then live out your only escape (your work) in the public eye of the Premier League and as part of a side who had tactically lost their way, shows character. He's articulate and reflective, well beyond his years - he's clearly a very bright and well-grounded lad, and his parents should be proud.

If he stays, we'll be all the better for it and he'll get our full backing I'm sure. If he goes, I think he'll be an established name on the European stage before his career is up. Humility is an underrepresented quality in modern football and it's very welcome to see.

I would love him to give us a season in the championship . In fact I think he owes it to the club another season to try and get us back up but sadly that’s not how it works now days

I think he’s the type of lad who would stay but unfortunately these days if a good bid comes in he will be told he has to go

...but he cannot be forced to go if he wants to stay

I wonder whether Thomas Partey's injury will cause Arsenal to re-think their plans and reignite their interest in Berge.

I'm sure he'll muck in if he can't get his move, but there's no way that he actually wants to stay. He didn't want to join us when he thought we would be relegation candidates in the PL, there's no way he's suddenly happy to play 2nd tier football.

I think they’ll dip into the market but they’ve been linked with several other midfield targets recently which might indicate they’ve broadened their search

Understand, but he doesn’t know how fit to play he will be so may prefer to stay, get fit and on form and then look to move.
Another upheaval to a different city where he may not get in the team is perhaps nor appealing to him.

see what your saying but that was 2 years ago dont think anybody is gonna stump up 35m for him just now im hoping slav has persuaded him to stay at least while january and asses the situation again then

I'd like to pay 10p for a Freddo n all. Shame theyr'e about 90p nowadays.

8-10m there’s almost no point in selling him. All we do is lock in a massive loss on him.

Unless, of course he kicks off massively and wants out . then a loan would be better for all parties, that way at least there would be some upside.

if no one is offering a decent amount then I’d keep him, think we stand a better chance of going up with him here.

Michael Ball expects Everton to make late move for Sander Berge

Everton will make a late move for Sheffield United midfielder Sander Berge if they manage to offload fringe players before the transfer window shuts, according to Michael Ball.

Berge is facing the prospect of competing in the Championship after suffering relegation with the Blades last season.

Everton and Arsenal have been keeping tabs on Berge since Sheffield United’s relegation was confirmed, with the 23-year-old having a £35million release clause after suffering the drop – higher than his £16.2m valuation on Transfermarkt.

The Toffees, under new boss Rafa Benitez, have been eager to get some out-of-favour players off the wage bill and former Everton left-ball Ball feels the Merseyside club may look to sign Berge shortly before the window slams shut at the end of the month.

"higher than his £16.2m valuation on Transfermarkt" signals written by a 16 year old virgin
