what a shite article.

if there was a £10.3 m release clause in what planet do they think we’d be trying for £35m
Haven’t Arsenal already come in with a £15m bid for him? Therefore activating a release clause on £10.3m?

Personally I doubt there has been any concrete bid.

wouldn’t be surprised if there had been a few phone calls along the lines of:

“Eyup how much for the beef burger?”
“£35m”
“How much? Thas been relegated tha knows”
“£35m or fuck off”
Buzzzz

there seems to be a lot of rumours circulating atm and I think some are probably agent driven but loads just seem to be click bait bollocks.

I believe his release clause has probably dropped from the reported £45 million to £35 million which is where this £10m has come from. Then all the click bait wankers have jumped on the band wagon.

it’s hilarious how articles seem to suggest there’s a £10mil release clause but we’re demanding £35mil. If there was a 10mil release clause the club would be powerless to demand a penny more and he would have left already. There’s probably 50 teams who would buy him for 10 mil if only to turn a profit.

I reckon the stuff that seems to be coming out from closer to the club is more likely to be true. That we’ve a value. If it’s not met he stays and he isn’t pushing too hard to leave. He doesn’t seem the type does he.

i don’t doubt he sees himself as better than the championship and wants to play in the champions league again but I reckon there’s a good chance he stays until January at least. I can’t see many clubs queuing up at £35 m after our relegation and his lengthy injury. By January he’ll have proved his fitness and we’ll either be flying and he’ll stay or we’ll be mid table and he’ll leave.

good on the club if this is the case. We’ve grown some bollocks and will hopefully stick to our valuation. They worked hard to get one of Europe’s most sought after young players for the first time in our history. Let’s not let him go for 50 pence and a Mars bar.

We are not the same club we were when under the stewardship of Kevin McCabe. We are no longer absolutely desperate to sell assets at any cost to stay afloat and whilst not a rich club we are now in a position to negotiate a realistic fee for any players we wish to sell.It is a strange position for us to be in as our history shows that we have always had to capitulate and sell our best players “on the cheap” when bigger clubs come calling. It is nice to know that we can negotiate from a position of strength for a change, after years of selling players with potential that end up lining the coffers of other clubs……..it takes some getting used to but perhaps our club are not the easy target they used to be !!

Agent starting to push for a resolution now. Expect fee to be undisclosed and closer to what we paid for him (maybe even slightly less 🙈).. don't shoot the messenger!

Not happening. Plain and simple.

Only option for solid money would be circa 60mill from Arsenal for Berge and Ramsdale.
If his release clause states 35m on his contract then that's that. That's how I'd be responding anyway. Unless Berge wants to shoot off, then crack on. 25/30m :)

However I'd be disappointed to see him leave. He'd be a quality midfielder in the championship.

More risk if Berge stays we don't get promoted and he doesn't rip up championship. Not only more pressure for us to sell him in 2nd championship season but his value will also take another big hit.

Club have taken the smart option of trying to get money back for him now, write it off as no loss/no gain and use those funds elsewhere

Makes sense if funds are going towards players this season. I'd imagine Slav will be dipping into the foreign market so should get better value for money. However I'm sure the work permit situations will block a few.

Quite a few articles on the Napoli website - here's one of them courtesy Goole Translate

"According to what reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the d.s. of Napoli Cristiano Giuntoli is heavily focused on Berge, 23, Norwegian national team. His technical qualities have impressed the Neapolitan managers, but the English club is asking for 10 to 12 million euros to sell him. A figure that Giuntoli does not even consider, on the contrary, he would like it with a different formula, precisely because the midfielder has just recovered from the injury. The negotiations with Sheffield will continue."

Not sure about that figure!
Goole translate. Not for me I'm afraid as not reliable🤭

Berge looks and reminds me of the type to get involved with the Camorra. I heard that they’ve brokered the deal with Bettis hence why it’s only a million euros to be paid whenever they feel like it. 🇮🇹

You have previously said that we will be lucky to get our money back for Berge, I.e. £22m which subsequently values Ramsdale at £38m?

They were apparently only interested in a deal at £25m

We should be looking to keep both of them if we possibly can as they are both quality players who would be top drawer in the championship. Understandable if do sell but that's a different point. If we don't have to (either financially or because of contract clauses) why the fuck would you want the club to sell either of these two? Hopefully we can stand strong this pre season and have them give it a go for next season. If its not looking likely then reassess selling them in January. Our selling price for Berge should be £35m no less.

Nice to hear, I would take it with a pinch of salt tho. It's not like Slav going to say he wants to go so we have to accept that...

If we want to get as much as possible it's only thing he can say tbh.

Arsenal interested in Locatelli, scrapping with Juventus for his signature.

Surely they dont need both Berge and Locatelli to fill the departure of Granit X.

Why not
McCabe said it all the time
