Outgoing? SANDER BERGE ON WAY OUT ?

Quite a few articles on the Napoli website - here's one of them courtesy Goole Translate

"According to what reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the d.s. of Napoli Cristiano Giuntoli is heavily focused on Berge, 23, Norwegian national team. His technical qualities have impressed the Neapolitan managers, but the English club is asking for 10 to 12 million euros to sell him. A figure that Giuntoli does not even consider, on the contrary, he would like it with a different formula, precisely because the midfielder has just recovered from the injury. The negotiations with Sheffield will continue."

Not sure about that figure!
I’ve seen this quote before…they mistook the amount the fee reduced after relegation for the actual fee (ie the release fee in his contract goes down by £10m on relegation and they think that is the actual fee) Gawd only knows why they keep repeating this nonsense.

Cos it's the Italian version of the Sheffield Star and they have a slow news day and they are repeating the same old inaccurate shit time after time...?

Also Liverpool are interested and have said they could get him between 10ml 12ml
No Way would United do a deal

That is such old news, it seems to be repeated every 2 / 3 days. Surely proof that as of now nothing of interest is happening in the market

We need to agree to these fees right?
Even if his buyout clause has dropped during our relegation, we still have to agree to the valuation.
Talks of anything less than £20m are a joke (considering the hefty sell on clause).

I don't think he will go, the relegation might have put a few suitors off but the injury will worry a lot more.
A few will have a cheeky bid to see where his head is at but unless it makes financial sense ie worth our while selling our main assessment then he will be here until January at the least.

£35M or nothing at all. he knew the risk of relegation was high regardless of our position in January and should have thought about it before signing a 4 and a half year deal. Yes he wants to play champions league football, but if they're not going to pay the money and expect us to roll over and arrange a cheaper deal they can fuck off and so can his agent

Doubt he's asking for the move myself. Sure I read somewhere he was happy enough to carry on playing until someone bids his release clause. Doesn't strike me as the kind of player to kick up a stink either.

We all know that Liverpool and Sporting Director Michael Edwards love a cheeky release clause for a relegated player, and that may be in the cards again this summer. Sheffield United’s Sander Berge could be available for a discounted price because of a relegation clause in his contract, reports Sport Witness.

So, the current rumour is that Italian side Napoli is negotiating for the Sheffield United midfielder. The relegated side wants £35million for their star midfielder, but that’s unlikely to happen because they’ve been relegated and nobody really knows if Berge is worth that much. Because Sheffield was relegated, there appears to be a £10.3million release clause for the player.

I do not think the Norway international is a like-for-like replacement for Gini Wijnaldum, but if other options are not coming to pass it might make sense for the Reds to take a flyer on a guy like this. One nice thing about the midfielder is he’s 6ft 5in, or about 1.95m. He’s an absolute unit. Just a massive lad.

It’s unlikely Liverpool move for him, but it is an interesting option.

what a shite article.

if there was a £10.3 m release clause in what planet do they think we’d be trying for £35m

There wouldn’t be any sell on fee at £20m would there? Isn’t the sell on fee a % of the profit. We paid £18m-£20m didnt we?

either way fuck em off no where near enough

After tax.

Agreed, this is something that doesn’t seem to be able to be believed by people.

McBurnie was on something like £38k a week gross basic last season.

He got fined £28.5k, which was 150% of his net weekly salary minus 5% in respect of his guilty plea.

You'd think journalists with a reasonably high IQ would work out that SUFC couldn't demand £35m if his release clause was £10.3m. That's the equivalent of going into your local corner shop, picking up a bottle of Pepsi that says £1 on the label and the shopkeeper demanding £3.50 isn't it? What would be the friggin' point of that?

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Sheffield United want just €12million (£10.3m) for Sander Berge as the Blades prepare for life in the Championship.
In 2019, the Norwegian said playing at Anfield, is a dream not just because of his nation’s connection with the Reds but due to them being the best in the world.

He told the Liverpool Echo: “Playing at Anfield is a dream for everyone in the world, and not least for Norwegians.
“Liverpool are the best team [at the moment] and have the most fans. So I could certainly like to play at Anfield as often as possible.”
According to Voetbal24, who claimed back in March that Jurgen Klopp is ‘absolutely convinced’ of Berge’s talent, the 23-year-old is a person of interest to the Reds.

Why would we buy a highly rated player for £22m and put a £10m buy out clause in his contract?

Our lass is the account not me but that sounds ridiculous!
