For me, Berge showed tonight why he should be in the team.

The lad ghosted past players today- something he has been criticised for not doing.

The lad showed some tidy bits of play and retained possession in tight spaces.

The pass to Billy, QUALITY. Again, I've seen the lad being criticised on here for not playing through balls or passes that slice open defences etc.

Thing is though for that amount of money we paid, in the championship, you’d expect that every 2/3 games. Granted he hasn’t had a run of games but you can’t be happy with that performance every 10 or so games, we need it way more frequently, and I hope he can do that

No one was great in the first half but Berge looked comfortable and in the game. Both teams just having a feel for each other but I think we dominated the first half. Always expected to us to do the job 2nd half, despite them scoring first.

I wish he would drive forward with the ball more, he just seems to brush players aside and is very strong on the ball. Seemed to run out of gas towards the end tonight (understandable) but I thought he had a great game today!

For whatever reason (probably the hype at the time we signed him, dunno) - Berge is judged extremely on either end of the 'shit - outstanding' spectrum by many on here.

The ones that don't rate him really overstate how bad/ineffective he's been.

The ones that rate him will take any bit of quality and use it as evidence he's the talent we all heard he was before signing.

Tonight - second half particularly, he was excellent. I'm not sure how any fair minded football fan (with some sort of understanding of what constitutes a good midfielder) could say otherwise.

We need him to do that more regularly, and we need him to do even more because he has it in him.
