Big Sam or CW?

no i think berge egan and possibly joc will be sold but i reckon at least 80% of this squad will still be here weve got lots of cracking championship players but just not up to premier teams rammed with internationals its getting harder every year for clubs to survive in the prem without major investment on the pitch i think we just got here a couple of years early to be honest but i fancy us strongly to get back up if the worst happens
I think it will be a total rebuild in truth as players leave, retire and/or suffer relegation malaise.

Probably best that we do what we can to B stop up.

There has been a couple of people on here suggesting we should consider Big Sam as an option
To be fair he rescued both Everton and West Ham, so this opinion isnt without foundation
There has also been reference to several other managers that may be suitable options should Prince pull the trigger

Question is -

We stick with CW, get relegated and accept we may bounce straight back up, conversely it may take us another 15 years to be back in the Prem
We go for Big Sam, he brings his own 'unique' SamBall style, we stay up and we give him a 2 year contract
We plump for another manager should CW not win at least one of the next 3 fixtures, and hope for the 'new manager bounce'

The lure of the Prem and all its trappings and revenue looks on paper appealing, however having sat through the Blackwell days, still have the neckbrace in the attic, personally I would go for stick it out and take our chances next year.

However we cannot ignore the gulf in revenue, look at our transfer budget, ground improvements, sponsorship revenue, global brand awareness etc

Hopefully the outcome of the poll can bring some clarity on the feelings of the contributors to this forum

In the interests of balance, I dont think your a pig if you vote anything other than Wilder, neither do I think your blind faith renders you a happy clapper if you do
I for one don’t want any Brown Envelope men anywhere near united.

No manager could get this squad much better I think all best managers have money (wages) and managers like Allardyce Pulis Warnock etc just temp fixes they’d keep a tight ship at back and are good in championship but that’s about it Allardyce has done a good job with Bolton but it wasn’t very attractive on the eye and Everton West Ham etc had good squads I’d give Wilder chance to rebuild again unless we could shell out money for a top European manager which I don’t think we could afford utb

im not sure that will happen sharpy although 35 will still be here albeit only on the bench and i dont think the championship is that strong nowadays the 3 that got relegated have every chance of getting back up and weve a better squad than all 3 of them even if 2 or 3 leave lundstrum certainly wont be missed for a start

This thread makes me miss Pinchy
It makes me miss whacking my bell end with a long handled stainless 5lb tenderising hammer, something I found less painful than thinking about having that fat fucking failure of a man in charge of my club.
I'd rather be found with Jimmy Savilles long lost hidden stash of child picture albums and have to explain myself to the parents in a 4 metre square room whilst chained up surrounded by weapons that facilitate easy torture than have that cunt anywhere near this club.
We need to be proactive in hunting down anyone who would support him being here and quickly kill them. They don't even deserve a burial. A ditch near a plentiful supply of Crows and rooks will do.

Still a bit on the fence then?

If your tongue is not planted firmly up CW’s dirt track, and don’t believe that he’s got enough credit in the bank to take us down to League 2, you’re a “pig” who should fuck off back to S6 apparently.

Some people don’t understand he’s not bigger than the club. We’re suffering because of loyalty to him, I’d bring Big Sam in now if it was up to me
Thank the lord it ain’t up to you then! It’s bizarre you just keep spouting the same shit over and over again saying the same thing over and over again on every single thread! Obviously Chris Wilder has bummed your missus at some point! Your hatred of him is bizarre for a “Blade” and I use that term extremely loosely!

Errr, no its not.

I have been following the Blades for 40 years, have seen them in the 4th and in the Prem, old Wembley, new Wembley and Cardiff - loosing them all!

it a debate cos, well to put it simply, this is a forum*

My vote was with a stick with CW, however other people on other threads have suggested Sam, so lets put it to the vote - the freedom in this country is that people are entitled to an opinion, even if it differs from yours

and lets be straight, Prince, the board, CWAK themselves, the players - all will be asking the question

May I ask, why do you think it shouldnt be debated?

* FORUM, noun - a meeting or medium where ideas and views on a particular issue can be exchanged.

Apologies for the pig accusations. I am also a fellow sufferer of approximately 40 years in duration. Thank you for the reminder of what a forum is, but i am fully aware that it is an arena for democratic debate & the sharing of ideas.... however ridiculous. But that’s the thing here; the proposal of Big Sam (Or any other similar dinosaur) as a replacement for Wilder is just.... surreal & I think inherently insulting. Think about what Wilder represents. ‘One of our own’, passion, continuity, old school approach mixed with progressive ideas & innovation. Etc etc. Then consider what Allardyce represents. The complete antithesis. He was sacked from the England job for corruption & his son, a football agent was secretly filmed taking a bung. Anyway I’m sure that you’re aware of all that.

I know it’s only a debate, but surely no one would seriously consider sacking Wilder for a man like that? Finally I don’t think it shouldn’t be debated, it’s just a silly debate & it reeks of trolling.

I’ve said this before! No supporter of Sheffield United can seriously want to replace wilder with big Sam it’s absurd!

Appreciated mate

I wasn’t suggesting we bring in Sam, in fact I voted first to keep CW
2 reasons
No one better who we can get in
You don’t destroy 4 years of good work with 10 games of bad work

The point I set up this thread was to see the feeling of the forum members

Think the result is conclusive.......

Well said & fully agree 👍 Let’s hope CWAK & the squad can turn it around.

You have to spend the money on competitive wages. We don't do that so we get the players no one else really wants. Not Chris' fault, we simply never spend what is needed.
