Without wishing ill health or injury on any of our hapless heroes, I must admit to having a heavy heart seeing Max 'All Time' Lowe returning to inaction today. Please tell me we aren't looking his way for an answer to our defensive woes. One of the worst players to don the red and white (yellow today) and if we're serious about improving the team next season, this bloke shouldn't be anywhere near it.

Wilder says a new team ! if that's the case Lowe can't be part of it. We have enough game changers in the squad with dicki injury records , doesn't really bing anything to the table apart from time out through injury. We can do better surely.

1) Whatever you think of Lowe he hasn't been one of the worst to play for us.. heck we've had 4 or 5 worse this season alone.

2) Just like Bogle, he has a years option on him.. so get used to him being part of our plans.

I thought he did fine yesterday.

And he's not even close to being one of our worst ever players. He's probably not even one of the worst 5 left-backs we've had recently (off the top of my head - Andy Taylor, Calamity Jay, Jordan Stewart, Luke Thomas, Marcus Williams and Chris Hussey were all worse).

I'm genuinely torn on this one.

On the one hand he's à pretty poor player, who if you actually watch him off the ball has zero football IQ, doesn't know where/what to do unless the LCB shouts at him (so basically if Robinson isn't playing he's all over the place).

On the other, his last two seasons in the Championship he's been in promotion winning sides - so can't be that bad. And with all the other holes we have to fill, having him as a back up LB would be fine...

He's another player who's injured more than fit so no we don't need to be taking up an option to retain. So it's highly likely we will.

You see, Max Lowe isn’t the issue.

He showed what he could do at Forest. He’s shown on occasion at United too.

What is more than apparent is that he was the best chance we had of turning out an actual left back this season, because the rest who’ve been there instead of him have been considerably worse than him.

Staggering that it’s been pretty much 3 years since Enda was done yet we STILL haven’t managed to replace him.

So less of the Lowe hate, he’s far from the biggest problem we’ve had!!

I’m indifferent about Lowe.

As a squad player in the championship I think he will be adequate. I think we have bigger and more important positions to worry about than lowe. Especially as we will probably have such a tight budget. Once we have sorted the spine of the team then lowe will be moved on, probably in a years time.

Relax he's going to be released

Personally i thought Larouci did ok yesterday and he was subbed for lowe im guess is he will be here seemed a pointless sub in my opinion

I must’ve imagined Max Lowe being the first choice left back for a team that won automatic promotion to the Premier League by 11 points last season.

One of worst players to ever wear the shirt. Outrageous statement.
He's up there as one of the worst left backs I've seen in a United shirt. At best he's average. He's such a nothing player.

He's another who I'll look back on in ten years and go "oh yeah, I forgot he played for us" when someone mentions his name.

He was awful. Out of position and his passing was poor. Thought he might have been taken off at halftime

Lowe isn’t a world beater by any stretch. However you can’t compare a player who was a part of a team to win us promotion to the PL to the likes of Jordan Stewart, Marcus Williams, Jay McEveley, Sean McGinty, Daryl Westlake, Chris Hussey, Luke Thomas, Andy Taylor etc.

Daryl Westlife in a class of his own. Absolute dog meat.

On the flip side if you ranked the regular eleven from top to bottom on who had the most influence over the season year, then Lowe would place dead last. Being part of a team who got promoted does not automatically make you a good player. Players are judged on their own merit, on their own ability and their own contribution.

That's like saying Rhian Brewster is a great striker because he has a Champion's League winner's medal.

I honestly thought he was fine last season. Can’t recall him letting us down at any point. Also he was promoted with Forest the season before, so must be doing something right.

Again I’m not saying he’s a world beater but he’s a solid enough Championship player. I wouldn’t be upset if he’s still at the club next season. If RND could stay fit, he’d definitely be my first choice though.

I don't think Wilder is planning on keeping many players at all.

Larouci is better, but I wouldn't be paying the rumoured £4m to make his loan permanent. He's not worth it

I’d pay 500k for Larouci as a future prospect at championship level. But anyone tainted by association with last season needs to provide a compelling case for retention. Few do.
