The deciding factor in outgoings this season seems to be when the manager tells the player there is interest ,wether they want to go or not
Er, what? That happened with Lee Evans but not sure it's happened with anyone else. I'm not sure Jack O'Connell was given the same chance, for example!
My bet with Lee Evans is that Wilder hadn't been overly happy with him and so jumped at the chance to get him out once it became clear we could get Oli Norwood instead for a similar price. The whole 'he seemed keen' thing was likely overplayed by Wilder who was keen to get him out. Maybe something like:
Evans: Hi boss. I've just found out Wigan are keen on signing me.
Wilder: So... what do you think?
Evans: Well, I'm not su...
Wilder: What's that, you fancy it?
Evans: Well, I don't kn..
Wilder: Look, Lee, if you want to leave, I want stand in your way.
Evans: Boss, I'm not sur...
Wilder: No no, don't mention it. I understand. I know you had a good time in Wigan before and want to get back there. Don't worry about it. We'll be fine. Bye!
