Triple signing to be announced later today?

We do tend to do all these things in one sitting to save McCabe turning the lights on multiple times a day.

I'm guessing their waiting to conclude multiple signings, before making a press announcement.

I’m sorry but if that’s true I’m done with the club.

Leonard’s thread is over 200 pages long!, these other signings just don’t compare...only way he could pull summat like this off is if the other two are Morsy and Burn!

Ffs UTD....

Lenny gone, Ranger gone, please let it be Brown gone. We were absolutely dire getting spanked 1-3 at Northampton, they're bottom of the FL1 for fucks sake. Give us Lenny back you bastards.

Dean Hammond is still looking for a club*

*not that I'd wish that twat on you, things are bad enough for you as it is.

United issued a statement earlier today stating that they would be announcing all signings in one go at the request of Foxy because he can't be arsed to administer all the rumour threads on his own as Linz is sat in costa chatting on mumsnet talking about which are the best nappies.

A spokesman for the club stated

Mr Fox has requested that we consider the forum owners when signing players due to the stress and time taken to merge rumour threads on the S2 Forum. We respect the wishes of Mr Fox and the club hopes that this action will help to reduce the length of threads to 180 pages, it also allows Mr Fox to "confirm" rumours in one go and also multi "gone elsewhere" the others. The club will not be making any further statements at this time

Isn't it about time you replaced Brown with Chris Powell?

Strangley Chrissie isn't featuring much in the horses and riders list. Strange because, as an ex Southend player of note, he is one of our favourite sons. May be something to do with him not having a brilliant managerial career. Ron does like an established name so these are amongst the popular guesses:

Mark Warburton
Paul Lambert
Billy Davies
Simon Grayson

Warburton would be my choice but its starting to look as if he's going to stand by Brown until the end of the season when his contact finishes.

Of those, I'd be surprised if Lambert or Grayson were interested. Warburton is decent but unless you're counting promotions in the Scottish leagues (L2 level at best) then Powell has done as well as Warburton. Davies has a mixed record but is a horrible little twat.
It sounds like Karl Robinson is trying to talk himself out of a job. Could do worse.

Without wanting to sound condescending, I can’t see any of those names mentioned taking up the job with you.
Nothing to do with your clubs size or ambitions but the four mentioned will see themselves as being better than league one Southend. They’ve been at big clubs and will have the ego to mean they wouldn’t drop down to that level unless it was for a big club that is at a place where they really shouldn’t be....like Sunderland will be next season, and probably Birmingham.

You really need to look at someone who is young and looking to use you as a stepping stone to the top, somewhere to make a name for themselves.
Lincoln managers for example, or another Wilder type.
In fact, rather than pissing Wilder off a little, Ron could have done a lot worse than to cosy up to Wilder to get some recommendations in. He knows the game at grassroots level to championship pretty darn well.

Roots,

Was initially thinking that’s an over ambitious list of management targets because they’ve all done the rounds at Championship level
And you would expect, with patience, might expect another job in the Championship.

However it’s a tough decision for managers these days.
Grayson was doing a great job at PNE, then he risked it all going for a big job at Sunderland, quickly failed and he’s now unemployed.

Does someone like Grayson accept he’ll struggle to get another job in the Championship and accept an offer from Southend?
Or does he stay patient BUT then he could then become the forgotten man and his stock could get worse.

I suppose if forgotten man Nigel Adkins can get a job at Hull City then all those managers will think they just need to stay patient and they’ll get a decent Championship job sooner or later.

good job you're selling Lenny. If you get Warburton you'll need plenty of "bread" ;)
