I now declare this thread........

His wish...his dream move eh?

Fancy that. A Wilder type player, really wants to come here!

Bet Wilder will be grinning.

What I like most about this signing is it'll allow us to just play Basham in his best position, on the right of a back 3 & maybe RWB if required but that's not ideal.

Leonard from the highlights I've seen will bring some pace, height & maybe just maybe we'll see a shot from distance too now.

Chuff me. You mean one of these threads can actually come to something?!

I just assumed we pratted about a la Burns and Morsy til the whole sorry ordeal blew over.

Wasnt sure what to expect from Leonard so thought id check his stats on Fifa, some decent numbers for a league one player, especially around pace and shot power.

I know it doesnt count for much, given its a computer game, but thought id share never the less.

You know we've signed him in real life don't you ?

I'm going to keep posting because I want to have the last post in the Leonard mega-thread

That's what I'm going to get on the back of my shirt. Or whatever number of replies this thread ends on...

Good news that we have got this over the line. Let’s hope he comes off the bench next week and gets the deciding goal for a dream start.

Delighted with this, Basham type midfielder but decent on the deck and much more athletic. Capable of getting up and down the pitch quickly and he’s 6 foot plus. Plus he’s a good age and has been captain down at Southend so a decent lad by all accounts. Fits the Wilder profile.

Much rather sign a dozen Ryan Leonard’s than players like Butterfield or Rhodes at Wednesday who phone it in most of the time and just pick the money up.
I've got a mate from Southend and from what he's told me he's a lot better technically than Bash. As you say, experienced leader just approaching his peak years, classic Wilder.

The priority now should be a Duffy type player (unless Carruthers has a blinder against Ipswich, then we can review it), then a bit of pace up front and if there's any money left, a loan of a fullback; ideally one who can cover left and right in case Freeman takes longer to get back than we expect but we've got the best part of a month to see how he gets on. I think we'd be as strong as we could be with that.

And if he's got a local bus timetable handy and can get to Portman Rd for 5'ish he can get a lift up north on the team bus :)
