Still nothing heading North? Must be getting a little unsettled your way at the moment?
Is that the Sarfend chairman's 'syrup' that Pinchy keeps bangin on abart?

Been watching the Blades at Chesterfield mate. How about you? I got back about half an hour ago after dropping various mates off in different parts of town. I reviewed the footy news, reviewed the last couple of pages on here and saw nothing of this news, which broke just over 2 hours ago. So thought I'd post it.
I really must go back through every single post in future to avoid duplication.![]()
No surprise whatsoever. Not all Blades are gullible enough to think that everything that emanates from other clubs' managers and chairmen is the gospel truth; just most of them...
Sorry, I did tell you I was grumpy last night. It's done the raining bit down here now so the humidity has dropped and all is well in the South. As for Lenny and transfer requests, on or off, I think Lenny will go, it just requires Sheffield United to offer an acceptable amount. Looking at Wilder's texts the end may be in sight, alternatively, this could go on for many pages yet. This post does feel a bit deja vu though.Bit bitchy Roots? Maybe the logic of what's about to happen is getting too much? Seems the National paper you don't have time for must have picked up this story from somewhere, doncha think? I'm sure it'll all settle down once the truth is out there....there again, who's to say it's not already?
He is.
Gary Sinclair on facefook teasing about a "big surprise".
Wonder if he's going naked for next season.
Interesting especially with Millwall looking at other targets (Rowe @ Donny) having apparently been priced out of Leonard
Any idea who's going to blink first - Utd or Southend?
My understanding is that Leonard is more of a defensive midfielder, good tackler with a great box to box workrate
Where as Brooks is more of a creative flair offensive midfielder, so they are very different players.
Last season our midfield was too good for that division. We were allowed to get its own way playing an open offensive game.
I suspect Wilder is a concerned about the poor defensive qualities of Coutts, Duffy, Carruthers and probably Brooks too.
So he wants an upgraded Basham type midfielder, someone the right age on the way up, who can protect the defence but is mobile enough to also get forward and is decent in possession. We wanted to buy Sam Morsey last year to play this role but we were all surprised that Basham upped his game and played the defensive midfielder role really well but I suspect we can do better.
My take for what's it's worth (not a lot) is that Ryan wants to go, but knows our chairman has the final say. Southend have been good for Leonard and vice versa.
Our chairman is a lot of things, but a push over he is not. He will have a price and if met he is yours. If not he stays. I hope he does because he will be very hard to replace.
As for us being financially unsound. It is true that we have been in bother in the past but we have made a few quid the last few years. Maybe over 2million last season in player sales. We have countless add one for about 10+ kids who have left us for big clubs. It only takes one of them to be be the next big thing and we could be looking at serious money.
The talk this pre season is of another of those kids. A 17 year old by the name of Dru Yearwood. He has been very very impressive, so much so that the club have just today offered him a 4 year deal.
I'd be happy for Lenny if you sign him at the right price and id be more happy if he stays to push onto promotion.
Either way I just hope that this is resolved sooner rather than later as this isn't doing either club or the player any good.
There comes to a point though where both of us will need to move on. You are taking a risk that you think Leonard is the difference between getting promoted and not. Your chairman won't to get nothing for him and not get promoted. Clearly the player wants to leave, so the sooner both teams meet in the middle the better it will be for all parties. You can re-invest in a few more players, the lad can move here and settle and get used to Sheffield and the Club and I won't have to come on here and watch some of our fans try to belittle people like yourself with the big I am.
Ryan Leonard, Ryan Leonard's agent, Chris Wilder, Kevin McCabe, Ron Martin, Phil Brown and Pinchy. Feel free to re-arrange in any order of importance that suits your mood. What the fuck has been keeping this thread going for 2700 posts?
