Yes, but you have to pay to walk on the pier

Rest of England, its free.
Longest pier in the world mate. Survived two world wars, nearly burnt down twice, nearly broken in half by a polish freighter, you cant get that sort of thing for free......and a bloody long walk if it's raining.

This thread just keeps on giving.

This thread has turned into the Uncle Nobhead of threads.he/ Its related to you because its the blades but you try distance yourself from most things that it/he says

Uncle Nobhead Thread

Like I said Lenny has said nothing publicly, that's a fact. I'm Southend and very proud, Whatever you think of our chairman, I'm proud of him too as he has made nobs like you resort to personal abuse because of his stance. True, Phil is a strange colour and has exquisite taste in polo shirts

But when you balance up whether Lenny will like some of the posters on here, well, then these things count as well.

Whoops, nearly forgot, we've got a pier and a beach as well. Happy days.

Agreed. Like you said the only thing he has said is that he is focusing on playing for you (although he has been wording his statements to clearly keep his options open).

For all the whinging that goes on about our board rolling over and accepting the first offer we get for players it's refreshing to also see a chairman actually push for getting a player's worth. I hope we see this and take the same stance in future.

I've just been having another read through this thread again and seeing the amount of shit you and other shrimpers had to fight off I'm surprised that you've been able to keep coming back on here for so long. Thanks for sticking it out and keeping us all updated as much as you have lads. I would have probably stopped posting about 50 pages back if I would have been in your situation.

Well now you`ve explained it I feel a right tight get for just looking through the railings!

Will definitely pay and go on next time, maybe the season after next ;)

Can't say I've ever derived any pleasure from a pier but I imagine in these small towns that's all they have to pass the days until the next Wickerman festival

What? You've never taken part in a bit of pier stroking? Or some young female (even a not so young female) has enquired about how receptive you might be to having your pier stroked?

I may be misinterpreting but did you just assume my sexuality? ;)

Oh wait wrong thread.

Why, does it expand in the rain and shrink when the suns out?

And it was on 'Minder' :)

I've been to Southend, you can hardly call them beaches, like calling the Humber estuary a beach resort

The mud flats of cleethorpes....with fishermens old wellies, bottles of piss, and scrap plastic washing ashore.....beautiful!
Fucking beach

Negative Blade alert.
We might only have a bottom six budget, but throwing the towel in before the season's started. ;)

Has Wilder actually indicated that we're gonna increase our bid for Leonard? It seems a bit coincidental that the second we find out we're getting a cash windfall from the Walker sale, the press start talking about increased bid.

I wish I knew what a euphemism is, but I don't sadly. My post was a mild or indirect words or expressions substituted for one considered to be too harsh or blunt when referring to something unpleasant or embarrassing.

It might go well in a phonic alphabet, instead of U for Uniform, you could have U for mism.

While I'm here, I haven't been to Southend often, but its music has been important in my life. Is it my imagination, or has Southend produced a disproportionately large amount of decent bands over the years? I've included Canvey Island, not sure whether that's acceptable to locals.

Dr Feelgood, Eddie and the Hot Rods, Will Birch's Records, Mickey Jupp and my own personal favourites, the very underrated and (by me at least), much missed Kursaal Flyers.

I`m so positive, I never looked at it that way

Of course, i am talking about a Southend promotion, and then it all depends on how long it takes us to reach the Premier league :)

Great shout, don't forget Garry Brooker from Procol Harum as well as Allison Moyet, one time season ticketholder at Southend and who wrote 'Blue' in the teams honour.
