I see this opinion repeated quite often. I can't help thinking it's just a bit of a myth that's gained traction thanks to the general apathy towards the club this past couple of years, though. He's had plenty of purple patches away from "contract renewal time", in my opinion.
In your opinionNot in the last 2 seasons he hasn't.
Kasim's got another year on his contract.
He's one of the few in the team with genuine football intelligence (he can actually play one touch, pass and move football) but unfortunately he lacks any physical presence on the pitch. Technically he's also pretty decent but his injury record over the past three seasons is pretty horrendous.
It's thanks but no thanks from me, assuming we've got someone good lined up for the middle of the park.

The issue here is that this player stood out against us several times, would have been available to us on manageable wages / transfer fee, if we had pursued him, and is now, in all probability, beyond the scope of our club and will go on to better things. Why do we never seem to get a player on the rise ?
We got Dean Hammond !
UTB.
Missing the point Rick.We even had him on trial a couple of years ago. As big a fuck up as not signing Sam Morsy for 200k.
That article says nothing about him being out of contract.
It's on wiki that he signed a 3 year deal in 2014, and this site backs it up...

Erhun Oztumer at Peterborough is out of contract though, he's a quality little player, comparable but more attacking.
Missing the point Rick.
He's off from Swindon, contract or otherwise. If its lower end championship sides only that are interested, we have a chance. I suspect otherwise.
As I say, exactly the type of player we should be pushing whatever size boat we have out for.
UTB.
So he is then?he isn't nowhere near consistent or good enough for a promotion winning league one side.
Cheers for that Barnster. So he is then?

Dont go too far mukka
[QUOTE="dannysufc_, post: 1009433, member: 3246" , would be outstanding business
What's too far about it? One of the best centre halves in the league, still young and ever improving, for free?
Dont go too far mukka

He aint that good Baptiste carried him.
Theres better out there.
No we are not.Are we talking about the same player?
John Egan, not David Edgar...
No.Does he deserve a new deal?
I'm swaying towards no.
Been here as long as we've been in this division and apart from one or two good moments (Villa away, Charlton at home) he sums up the mediocrity that's plagued us. Think the only time he put a decent run of performances in was when we went on that run under Clough.
But I know there's some that like him and if Wilder is going to offer any out of contract player an extension, I could see Flynn being the one.
Discuss.

Umm... Are you struggling with basic English? No we are not.
Do you want out of this division?
You arent going too with players like Edgar.
Two new CBs ( i'll have Baptiste back though)
No.
Shake his hand, thank him and wish him well for the future
Not really (to and not too i,ll give you that)Umm... Are you struggling with basic English?
Not really (to and not too i,ll give you that)
You seem to like Edgar I dont if you want to elaborate on why you think he would be an asset please do.
For me his positional play is poor, distribution poor, weak in the tackle.
Also his international duties are a problem.
Lane Ender... dannysufc_ wasn't talking about David Edgar (28 year old Canadian centre half, here on loan last season). He was talking about John Egan (23 year old Irish centre half; here on loan in 2011/12).Not really (to and not too i,ll give you that)

Yeah, didn't realise that tbf, tad gutted!Lane Ender... dannysufc_ wasn't talking about David Edgar (28 year old Canadian centre half, here on loan last season). He was talking about John Egan (23 year old Irish centre half; here on loan in 2011/12).
Bit of a moot point anyway given that Egan has apparently signed for Brentford.
