Noticed this starting to happen a bit, youngsters running on pitch to get players shirts. 1 on Saturday for RND then 2 last night for Billy and Berge. As we sit near dugout Noticed it more as lots more youngsters appearing down there with cards asking for shirts, think this is why players have moved to sit in directors section from where they used to sit

Fair play to Mcburnie during last night's goal celebrations, he grabbed hard during the embrace then noticed a young lad had got in the huddle early and checked momentarily to see if he was ok.
As a bloke, McBurnie seems to be quite likeable. He certainly seems popular with his team mates but as a footballer, I just wish he'd put a shift in every time he's on the pitch, not just here and there when he feels like it.

Yeah when Gibbs-White, who looked absolutely knackered, ran past him to make a challenge as McBurnie shuffled around you would've thought that McBurnie might've realised that he needed to pick his feet up a little

I get it at a promotion winning game but pitch invasions/shirt begging during normal league games is like a team shithousing through 90 mins and celebrating a 0-0 draw, alright wind it in.

If I was a player, I’d walk over to the kid with the sign, take off my shirt, hold it out…

… and give it to the nearest normal kid next to them.
Point him the way of the club shop!

It's a bit pitiful isn't it? "Please sir can I have some more."

If a player decides to make the gesture great, but actually asking for it is a bit cheap if you ask me.

Asked a few birds out in me time as a young un, got told where to go by a good many of them, but I kept going but a few smiled and laughed at me jokes, some of them let me tickle them from the inside a few times, what's he rambling on about I hear you say?

In this life, if you dont ask, you dont get 😉

Everyone has to work harder when McBurnie is on the pitch and it shouldn't be that way.

Good luck with this thread. I created something similar a while back & had a few ‘teacher leave those kids alone’ responses.

I can’t stand it personally, I’m seeing families carrying cardboard signs into the grounds. Kids are turning up expecting a shirt.
Fantastic point, take a kid to the game as a treat, kid walking out crying because they didn't get the shirt...

This happens.

Edit: Seen Morrissey a few times, he throws a shirt out every gig, you should see the grown men rip it to pieces, embarrasing..

Some fans pay a fortune for a shirt from the shop but others just show up and ask for one for free off a player.

I'd much rather see the match shirts get auctioned for charity.

Begging for shirts or in my other sport, ice hockey, pucks and sticks is everywhere, it's rife, it's worse than ever and a little bit OTT imo.
They normally give pucks out before / after games it’s an acceptable thing to do at the games ( USofA ) that I’ve been too , never seen sticks given away though
Besides I was at 2 games last week , costing me $400 , beverages and a bit of snap included ,
I’d have no problem asking for a puck , my team have sold out there last straight 500 home games

I’ve been watching a few of the Big Match programmes on ITV4 and although I can remember the players quite clearly, I was amazed at how many matches had kids running on the pitch at the end of games and it hardly ever caused anyone to bat an eyelid. They were just genuinely celebrating their team winning and I expect trying to be on the telly which in those times was a rarity. I remember the recent post about shirt scrounging on here, I think it was on a different section of the forum and my view remains the same in that it detracts from what otherwise would be a heartwarming gesture.

Shy boys get no sweets

Why insult your own players? What if he scores a brace on Saturday? I'll always criticise poor play and call for players to be dropped. But that's just bollocks. Club doesn't like it, players don't like it neither do most of us.
Tough
