I do find this no loans quite refreshing with us all not wondering who we are getting for the next month or so

Just think this time last year we were all waiting for Hammond to arrive and looking forward to the premier league quality he would bring and why couldn't we get him sooner. We were also in the bring in Dan Burn saga(don't know if anyone remembers the name, he was a central defender who was getting in Fulham's team every week)

A laughing #sufc boss CW has dismissed reports from Ireland linking them with Dundalk fwd Michael O'Connor. "Has that started already?".

That site's certainly not the least reliable, and we've been linked with two Dundalk players now, with only two other clubs linked to O'Connor, so I think it's very likely we'll be scouting Dundalk and probably the Irish league in general.

Giddings will obviously be making a mistake. The Radio Sheffield reporters can't process more than one of the same surname - Michael O'Connor is a midfielder who's played for Rotherham.

Maybe its him? a midfielder who scores around 1 every 8 games on average? Would probably be dirt cheap and is a six footer.

Unless it is the academy sniffing around the Irish lad?

Given their success in the Europa league I'd guess a lot of teams will be at least having a look at their players. Why wouldn't you?

We have a great chance this season , the best since 2012 , BUT we must strengthen in January , despite already having 27 in the squad.

We have to keep EEL.

We have to get another CB – we are playing 3 in every game , so we need more than 4 plus Basham in the squad. James Wilson has clearly not impressed CW.

There is talk of ANOTHER goalie , if Long leaves (he is never in the matchday squad).

We are still short of a midfield general / hard-man – if Fleck/Basham gets injured (or Basham has to play CB) , we are light there.

And we are far too reliant on Billy up front.

After a mixed period of form (in his play, not in his goals) , he had a storming game at Bradford.................but if he gets injured before Clarke is fit , we are threadbare up front. Our biggest risk area.


Evans has 6 months left on his contract at Chezie – surely we can nab him in January with bigger wages & a longer contract than Chesterfield can offer , especially if Clarkes injury is career-ending.

Bit harsh on Wilson ,hes not getting a game because of the form of the other 4 ,he can be used as a back up.
