If anyone wants to see the damage/effect rugby can have on a football pitch!, have a look at the MOTD highlights of the Man U v Bolton game (1st game since the rugby grand final last weekend). IMO, the pitch looked terrible & 'played' terrible, but don't take my word for it, have a look for yourself.

Yeah!, you're right there!. Also as i had pointed out to me today 'What are Blades moaning about!, we don,t use the surface anyway!!'.:D

I was going to mention it but its pretty obvious playing Rugby at the lane will damage the pitch.

i must admit i had to laugh yesterday when the group of fans who was singing lets pretend weve scored a goal then went on to say lets peretend weve scored a try genuis lol

We can joke about not passing it but to me it's McCabe major fault rearing it's head again, revenue first, Sheffield United football club's 1st team second.

Just wait until the car boot starts............them double wheel Transits cause havoc.

Is this really a case of putting the commercial before the team?

We don't know the details, but Rugby League plays through the summer. But I agree it'll wreck the pitch.

But it'll be interesting to see how much cash we'll get for this.

It could be enough to pay the wages of a cheap as chips player (sorry BB, stealing your vocabulary)

If thats the case then its going to benefit the first team....

Personally I think its a shocking idea

This.

What's wrong with consulting the fans over this though? Why can't they come out and say 'Would you like to see rugby played at The Lane?'

The response I think would be a resounding no.

Hopefully the vendetta that The FA have against us will work in our favour this time though, they might turn round and say "no fuck em, they aren't having the extra revenue, we won't approve rugby to be played at Bramall Lane"
