Last season they were - I know as I took mine in a few times when staying overnight prior to a match.

I'm down for the Fans Forum tomorrow and am staying overnight. I noticed a tweet about this from a fellow Blade.

On querying this with the club they say the change of policy is due to the spate of attacks carried out this year. Fair enough.

They told me that we can take in a shoulder bag of laptop size (maximum) so I'll be using that for necessary change of clothes.

This info might be useful to some I guess

I've already alerted the cheating thumb to this ;)

I imagine United's hands are tied on this which is fair enough but there's a fair number of people who take rucksacks into the ground with them; should make the turnstiles even easier and quicker to get through...

This could potentially fuck my Saturday over. Planning to come up straight from a family holiday in wales so I'll be carrying a bag. If the lockers in the bus station are full, I'm fucked.

Try the train station. Assuming they still have them.

Just get a mate to hand it over the bar at the pub and say "I think someone left this". Then pick it up later. Hey presto, free luggage storage.

BTW Milleneum Gallery has lockers, but I think it shuts around 5pm

I always take a rucksack now due to having an 8 year old in tow. Drinks, sweets, crisps, jacket he can't be arsed to carry etc etc Oh well, bigger pockets required.

Sorry to say this though but the daft/sad thing about this is that someone intent on blowing us up wouldn't even need to get into the stadium, and in fact would be better not trying to. We all see the turnstiles 10 minutes before kick off, 20 folk deep on the Cherry Street/Kop turnstiles and once the gates are open at full time it's a flood of people all around the stadium for up to 30 minutes. Manchester proved that this horrid tactic will cause horrendous casualties.

That'd probably get treat as a suspicious package and the bomb squad would come out and carry out a controlled explosion.

Why not just wear all of the clothes you take with you?

I believe that the lockers at the bus station have also been removed in the past few months I'm afraid.

This is going to bugger my trips to the Lane up as well, for same reasons as above (child in tow who needs a constant supply of empty calories).

I'm intrigued to know where a rucksack ends and a laptop bag begins, as my laptop bag is worn on the back, rucksack-style....

Come to think of it, perhaps lockers at the Lane wouldn't be a bad shout? Besides folk with rucksacks, plenty of people go shopping before a game but have to either go home first or walk back to the car to drop it off.

Dunno where they'd go like, but if this is to be the way forward I reckon it's an idea worth exploring.

Was going to suggest the same. Could put them in the hotel or the car park?
