Ruben Selles v's Chris Wilder

The usual people will be ready to claim they knew all along that whoever we got in was useless after every poor result. Will be hard to notice the difference between them and people who are bitter about the new manager being Wilder's successor specifically.
Agree totally. It's polarised fans. For balance there's plenty out there that never forgave Wilder for walking the first time, back door, 5 million, etc.

Jokanovic v2.

Absolutely bang average lower league manager who has achieved precisely zero in his career so far.

Won 5 home games in charge of Hull last season. Five. All season. Out of 23 games. With a pretty solid squad.

There is absolutely zero evidence to suggest that Selles could do in any way a better job than Wilder. Stop reaching. It's idiotic.
Selles managed Hull for 27 league games last season, tell me how he had 23 home games with them?

That Hull squad was anything but solid. Most Hull fans liked him, he did a good job. They were rooted to the foot of the table when he joined because of their crazy chairman, he had them 12th in the form table.
Incredible achievement. Wow. Did you say 12th in the form table? That's absolutely astonishing. What an amazing manager. I have completely changed my mind. Midtable Ruben is a genius and we have 100% made the correct decision. Thank you for helping me see the light.

I’m guessing you’re a parody account, right? 😂

12th in the form table with a squad that was genuinely terrible. I believe they were bottom when he came in, he guided them to safety. He did a very good job, given the circumstances. The owner of Hull is a genuine lunatic, that's why he was sacked. A vast majority of their fans would've kept him. That says it all, really.

We're replacing a club legend with an AI-generated manager whose crowning managerial achievement is...checks notes... taking Hull City to 12th in the form table. Why? What is your response to that, other than juvenile insults?

Imagine I'll be waiting here a while, mind.

No it wasn't terrible. They reached the playoffs the year before and invested heavily in their squad again. Selles got Hull to just about where they should be. Absolutely nothing on his CV suggests he's anything more than a bang average lower league manager - despite uour desperate attempts to convince yourself otherwise.

I fear a sense of irony here - substitute "naive and inexperienced" for "is a genuine lunatic". Is it just me?

I can’t take you seriously simply because taking on board your criteria would mean that Thomas Frank would never have been appointed at Brentford.

Wilder’s going, at some point you need to get over it. You’ll feel happier.

Firstly, they didn't reach the playoffs. They finished 7th. They finished in that position with a young manager (Liam Rosenior - someone that would've been my dream replacement for Wilder) and youngsters, some of whom were on loan. Philogene, Tyler Morton, Scott Twine all played very well for them, but they were all on loan. Aaron Connolly left this past summer, and because their owner is a lunatic, they sacked Rosenior. This season, after all the loanees went back, they spent a bunch of money on players from Brazil and Portugal that had no real desire to do anything other than collect a paycheck. Again, I believe they were bottom when Selles came in. He did a good job given the circumstances.

I don't think sacking Wilder was the right choice, given who was available, but some people's attempts to disparage Selles before he's even managed a game for us are laughable. He's a decent manager, who did a good job at Hull City.

I know some Hull fans. It goes beyond simple naivety.
