The players are chosen by the director of football and owners….and then the manager is told to get on with it.
This relationship will be totally alien to Wilder but perfectly normal for Selles.
wouldnt that have to be backed up by achievments , even small ones , staying up on gd is a high point for selles

There’s a good interview with him somewhere on the forum that was posted earlier today. It’s worth a watch. I think the biggest thing he will bring is excitement and intensity, both of which we have been missing for the last 5 years, and the hope is that it will come with success attached. This will be the first job where he will have the ability to be involved in recruitment with some degree of budget. We also know that we will see square pegs in square holes.

But those are just my thoughts.

People focus on stats and ignore the context. The job he did with Reading is remarkable.

what did wilder start with last july and how does Selles compare over that period
He was at the absolute car crash that was Reading last July so could only dream of what Wilder had available.

He resigned in December, having left them well set for the playoffs against all the odds. He went to Hull, who were rock bottom, and kept them up.

Yep. But way beyond the attention span of some on here, I’m afraid.

not one of our own, not one of our own Ruben selles…..

If he is successful and we get promoted with more than 92 points playing wonderful attractive football then he will do for me.

Jokanovic v2.

Absolutely bang average lower league manager who has achieved precisely zero in his career so far.

Won 5 home games in charge of Hull last season. Five. All season. Out of 23 games. With a pretty solid squad.

There is absolutely zero evidence to suggest that Selles could do in any way a better job than Wilder. Stop reaching. It's idiotic.
