Roy Keane

Roy Keane can sit there without any idea of the constraints we work within and say recruitment is poor. If we sign the likes of Watkins, Cash, Eze players we allegedly were in for are we in this position? You can only play with the cock you got.
I know the constraints we were working under. Recruitment wasn't poor. It was awful.

I am aware of how good CW and AK have been for us since they arrived. (Obviously, not this season OBVIOUSLY!!!!)
Maybe last season was the “blip” and this season is the reality and how good we really are?
Whatever the reasons, the rights and wrongs, etc. I fail to understand why CW and AK have “ banked” so much credit that they are entitled to continue serving up this dross week in week out and have such an entitlement to remain in their jobs.
I said it weeks ago, and Keane said it last night. CW was happy to accept all the plaudits last year but this season he is Teflon man.
Nailed it.

If we were going out each week and trying to play football, creative with flair and purpose but losing then i really wouldn’t mind as much. The fact we are smashing it long for a flick in the premier league and cant string basic passing moves together says a lot more about what he has assembled/created. This is a culture he has created, know one else has had this influence. It is an absolute embarrassment and the fact that this tactic has got us 1 win in 25 should be alarm bells for the manager but for some reason we continue to play a losing and disgusting style of ‘football’. This is up there with some of the worst football i have seen at a time we had a chance to finally establish ourselves in the top flight of english football.

No manager or player is bigger than the club and know one has earned the right to take the club backwards. Our long term vision should be an established PL club. Hes done great to get us here and has rightfully enjoyed the praise but this season he deserves a kick up the arse and a reality check. He has been wasteful with money, played hideous football and tactically 1 dimensional and basic.

In the prem you have to be ruthless to succeed, to quote wilder himself “there is no room for sentiment in football”.

Jay also said we would be fine after our bad start and people were wrong to worry about relegation and that our recruitment had been really good, so take his views with a pinch of salt.
So what is he wrong about? Says mistakes have happened but what he is said is factually correct.

Do you actually think he has taken this club backwards seriously? Yes we are getting relegated but do you say this is him taking us backwards? This club is in the position it is in because of him, yes going down is a disappointment but at the moment our natural place is in the championship wether you like it or not. That isn’t having a small club mentality or not being ambitious it’s a fact. Unfortunately what he’s done is hugely overachieve getting everyone giddy thinking we were established now we are having to take a step back towards where we probably should be given where we came from.
Fuck me chill out it isn’t the end of the world the club is financially sound we don’t need a fire sale and we can freshen things up next season. There is some proper flinching going on at the minute.

That only Brewster has been an awful signing.

Berge*, Robinson, Foderingham, Brewster, Lowe and resigning Rodwell.

(*Not an awful player, but an awful distribution of resources.)

In the meantime he let Besic & Freeman go while we continue tolerate Lundstram. Besic was and always will be a better footballer then Lundstram.

The Prince was right not to trust him with a war chest in January.

And he’s right about this summers recruitment if you read what he said about every player. Do you have the list of players Chris wilder wanted or went for but couldn’t afford? Do you actually think most of the signings were his number one choice. If we had got the signings the manager wanted would we be in this position? So who would or could we have realistically signed?
Roy Keane mentions Newcastle and not being able to compete, Wilder is bang on look at the signings they have made and money spent. We wanted Callum Wilson couldn’t get anywhere near his wages Newcastle spent 35m in a striker who hasn’t scored goals. It’s ok just sitting there saying this is shit that’s shit put some meat on the bones.

I can only assume you didn't listen to Keane post match because his comments were simply that having "good lads" and effort are not enough without quality. That the players brought in during the summer did not improve the team.

There is nothing to disagree with there. You could have a wider discussion about how we only looked at Championship players in the last two years, which is a failure of imagination in my view, but none of those commenting even spoke about our predictable tactics. Keane bemoaned our lack of goalscoring ability, an easy target, without anyone even suggesting that might be down to the way we play.

If anything Keane went easy on Wilder. He just said he should expect criticism. He didn't give him any except to say what a great job he'd done previously.

Bet you didn’t say that when he signed.

Also if you get the opportunity to sign a young kid who has wowed in the champions league and is tipped to be a star, then I’m sorry but you take it.

Not if you have no idea how to use him or if he doesn't do anything to improve your chance creating or goalscoring, you don't.

Hi Stegosaurus here,

But Wilder was given a massive cock and blew his load all over Brewster, McBurnie and Ramsdale, which is the equivalent of going to the Knocking Shop and picking Rooney's Auld Slapper.

Shouldn’t you be telling us that you’re on your way back after poaching Donny’s manager?

Wilder looks to me like a broken man. As great as the 4 previous seasons were, he has turned into everything he said he would never be and made every mistake he said he wouldn't do.

Hard to disagree with Keane's comments I am afraid. Wilder certainly took a lot of the credit for last season but does appear to be blaming everything else at the moment on why this season has been so devastating. I said it some months ago that Wilder needs to look at himself in the way he is carrying himself; it is not setting an example to the players, simply it is giving them an out. Yes, the budget may have severely hampered any progress, as well as the injuries to key players, but Wilder has not helped himself or the players with his focus on being the underdog and not being able to compete narrative.

He got the club to where it is now, absolute credit due and it's has been given to him in abundance, now the shits hit the fan it does not mean immunity. Do we allow him to reach the point at where he picked us up before we go that's enough mate.

He's built a platform for the club to succeed and shouldn't be allowed to take us back from where we came from just because he has taken us on that journey. With that thinking we accept anything better than League 1, that's not good enough from our current position. The club is bigger than the manager at the end of the day, Wilder is not immune from criticism in my eye, that's bollocks. He's been given a season already and produced shocking football and shit tactics and not turned it around. If anything he has proved he's 1 dimensional, stubborn and not good enough at this level. If hoofing and setting up for 0-0 every game and not changing tactics is enough for some then don't complain when we end up back at fleetwood playing out a scrappy 1-0. It's taken us years and years and years of shite to get to this point and we are now we are saying he's allowed to take us down the leagues because that's where we came from. Some people on here come across that they don't care that we are being relegated or the laughing stock of the league because we have Bladey McBladeface at the helm he can do no wrong. Wheres the ambition/passion or general sense of pride.

The bottom line is football is a fast paced game, you are either proactive or reactive. The teams who prosper are proactive, loyalty at all cost is bollocks in any scenario let alone footy when there is so much to lose.
