Love listening to his views.

After the semi draw his comments were great.

Said he didn't know why hull fans and players were cheering after after drawing us, because the draw has just heaped the pressure all on them and that although they will be favourites they can't take the might sheffield United for granted.

I added the mighty bit.

I loved it when he said "Those arrogant arseholes cheering for drawing Sheffield United are in for a cunting shock"
"Dunno why these plastic Inbreds are cheering they will be outnumbered outclassed and reeling from anal trauma at wembley " roy keane

Let them think its a formality, just like villa, fulham, charlton, forest, and even the team we didn't play... the jealous..

The Aston Villa manager, Paul Lambert, has confirmed his former assistant Roy Keane did turn up at the midfielder Tom Cleverley’s house this week but said Cleverley told him that the Irishman did not ring the doorbell for 15 minutes seeking an argument.

Keane, who stepped down from his role recently to focus on his position as the Republic of Ireland assistant manager, supposedly wanted a showdown about recent “leaks” from the dressing room concerning his time at the club.

Lambert said the Sun newspaper was correct to report that Keane had gone to Cleverley’s house but added: “I spoke to Tom this morning really briefly and he assures me that what is being portrayed is certainly not what happened. That was it, really. I’ve probably spoken about Roy more since he’s left than when he was here. I think you [should] give the guy a break.

“From the brief chat I had with Tom, it certainly wasn’t how it was portrayed. That was what Tom told me this morning.”

Various stories about Keane’s spell at Villa Park have emerged in recent weeks with reports claiming that the former Manchester United player allegedly had a fractured relationship with several senior players.

Asked whether Keane had told Lambert he was unhappy about such stories coming out of the club, the manager said: “No. I spoke to Roy. We’re good pals, not just in this regard but we’re good pals in general and that will always be the same.

“Roy’s obviously got his Ireland role to contend with and work on, trying to qualify for Euro 2016. There’s no problem on that side. He’s my pal. I spoke to Tom and the matter is finished.”

Villa take on Manchester United in the Premier League on Saturdaywith Cleverley, who is on a season’s long loan from Old Trafford, unable to feature against his parent club.

Doorstepping players houses, if more proof were needed that Keane is off his rocker.

I know a guy who did his Pro (coaching) License on the same course as Keano. Said he was brilliant with the none pros on the course - in fact preferred to spend time with them during lunch breaks etc. Off the field he was mild-mannered and humorous but as soon as the small-sided games started the glaze appeared and the manic winner within took over.

He divides opinion and would struggle in the diplomatic service, but I've admired him since seeing him play for Forest at Arsenal as a 17 year old and show absolutely no deference or respect for the big time Charlie Gooners of the era.

He struggles with players with, as he perceives it, lesser standards - especially the cowards and uncommitted. He also, evidently, believes in dealing with issues face to face, rather than grousing and sniping behind the scenes. So I have no problem with the fronting up of someone he clearly has insight to, given the Man U connection.

If The Blades had half of Roy Keane, the player, we'd walk this division and the next.

But that's the problem - you'd only get 'half' of Roy Keane as he'd be banned, suspended or simply just fuck off after a few months. He's a psychopath.

Anyway, must scarper before somebody asks 'why isn't this in Other Football and Sport'? :D

This chimes with something I read about Keane's time at Sunderland: apparently the thing he liked to do best and showed most enthusiasm for was showing youth teamers and their families around the club when they signed. The perception was that Keane does not like professional footballers at all - he seems to regard the modern game as a corrupting influence on players (and he may be right about that) and prefers to deal with people who haven't come into contact with it much yet.

I must have a look at his new book. I liked the first one.

'He struggles with players with, as he perceives it, lesser standards'. I think this applies to so many great players. Out of the World Cup winning team (1966) probably only Jack Charlton made a fist of being a manager. Others tried eg Martin Peters without success. One player who I always felt appeared to be impatient with his players was Trevor Francis.

Similarly there have been many successful managers, Ferguson, Mourinho, Wenger who were not great players but seem to understand how to get the best out of their players.

The 3no managers you mention have in common - man management and the right team around them.

Mr Clough is still learning the ropes , but heading in the right direction for SUFC

The problem with players in the modern era is they aren't fit to lace the boots of former pro's like Keane. Loved him when he played and the fact he alone made ITV's coverage bearable for the way he always looked like he was about to murder Adrian Chiles in the ad break. If only he had.

Massive respect for Keane because he tells it as it is. The problem lies with modern professionals and not him, he is just outing them for the frauds they are.

Yet he played almost 500 games and for only 4 clubs. Hardly journeyman territory is he?

I think he has a great deal of respect for our Nigel. Probably with their Nottingham Forest links. Was it the Fulham replay when Chiles was giving us so much disrespect and he stood up for us?

Adrian Chiles is a pug nosed c**t who should have been crushed under the weight of his own stupidity years ago. He's in the same category as Boris Johnson for me... that category is people who should be exiled to somewhere truly awful that has no contact with the outside world. Like Yarmouth.

The trouble with Keane is that everywhere he goes he expects the set-up and infrastructure to be as good as in his heyday at Man Utd, and his players to show the same drive and commitment as he did. So at a "lesser" club something will eventually make him throw his toys out of the pram.
Don't really like him as a pundit - yes, he's honest, but being a bit constructive once in a while wouldn't hurt.

Are you his mum ?

judge , i do like and respect Mr Clough . Whether it was the result and how we played against Southampton , but i do feel we are united once again . The cup runs we have had , does seem to have galvanised us all . Mr Clough reaction to Mr koemann , brought a feeling of the old siege mentality back , like we had in the Bassett days.

Also Mr McCabe is keeping his council , and not putting his foot in it with hogging the limelight , but keeping a back seat on all things SUFC.

The fans , players , manager and board are pulling in the right direction , which can only be a good positive sign ,and helps us all .

We are still learning about Mr Clough , and Mr Clough is still learning about us.

You might want to reconsider that bit as it doesn't really tally with the facts.

  • 2002 World Cup - fucked off as he 'didn't like the training regime'.

  • On 21 February 2009, Keane cited differences with Sunderland 30% shareholder Ellis Short and strains with club chairman Niall Quinn as the factors in his decision to resign as Sunderland manager.

  • Keane was sacked as Ipswich manager on 7 January 2011 after less than 2 years in the job.

  • On 28 November 2014, only 5 months into the job, Keane quit his role as assistant manager at Aston Villa after clashes with senior players.

  • ...and, just this week' 'Keane reportedly turned up at Tom Cleverley’s house to confront the midfielder over claims a bust-up with players led to his departure from the club.'

Very good - but violent - player. As a manager, hardly 'Carriage Clock' material. And as for others not living up to his 'high' :D standards, he has been surrounded with some excellent players at Forest & Man. U. A lovely man...
