Rotherham [H]

Agreed although it would be harsh on Basham as I thought he had a good game last night. Perhaps we may see Bash to RWB and Cranie at RCB as Freeman looked anything but fit yesterday. Was Baldock left out because of injury or because we already had 3 players that can play RWB in the squad?

We've played Bash at RB many times, and we always concede down the left because of him. He can't play that role it's his worst position. Cranie is a better defender at RCB and Freeman is all we have until Baldock is back.

One thing that might persuade CW to go with Madine again on Saturday is Rotherham's ability at set-pieces and long throws. I'd much rather have Madine back to defend against those than McGoldrick.

(Think I'd still start with McGoldrick though)

Have a like. Not for the obvious Holiday alert, but I thought it was 12:30 kick off for some reason and now I know better.
Such a daft random kick off time.

Still the mighty Rotherham could cause all kinds of problems with their enormous away following and terrible reputation.

Can I bring bottles, coins and fireworks to the after match get together or do I have to choose one?

Can't just be 12:30 can it, or 12:45, or 13:00.

No.

12:15.

Has nobody told these jokers that Rotherham and us aren't rivals in any way?

Rotherham......not won away all season, this is a betting banker, I’ve had this awful feeling for a few weeks now, I’ve been hoping they broke thier duck before they came to the lane, gonna stick £20 on a away win just in case, I’ll not feel as depressed and use the cash for some beers..

On the team front, only change I’d make is to drop Bash for Cranie...

Although I can see Wilder going for the same team that played against Reading.

I would like to see Hogan and McGoldrick start up top - don't think I can really justify it - just a hunch. I'd also like to see Cranie Baldock and Duffy start. Keep 'em keen, no automatic picks (well apart from Egan and Norwood)

Pig game against them kicked off at 3 p.m. Nothing like SYP bias against SUFC is there.

If they're likely to sit deep, it's not a suitable game for Hogan, whereas Brentford should be as that will be more open.

McGoldrick and Sharp is probably the way to go, McGoldrick is almost owed a start after Monday and we should have enough to break them down with him and Sharp before resorting to Madine, who'd be an excellent sub to bring on if we're struggling to break down a packed defence.

And they've actually got a bit of beef with them as well. But obviously it's beyond SYP intelligence officers to learn this.

Really hope we come back with a bang in this one. The pig fans are really pissing me off this week

Why ?
Because they got a draw ?

Just talk as much bolox as they do, it's good fun
My latest wind up for any of them that try their waffle on me is to tell them that Wilder arranged the bore draw with Brucey because Wilder felt sorry for his old United manager.

Total bolox I know, but it works, they don't know what to say to it
It's almost as though because it's total bolox, they believe it

If you don’t think we’ll win you may as well put the bet on Rotherham - Draw No Bet. Odds of 7.4 on one of the betting exchanges at the moment.

More a combination of the fact we weren’t really at it and they did a good job on us. The difficulty is that they now claim to have the worst Wednesday squad in years, backed up by a lot of our comments ! So really, us going there and creating nothing, has got them beaming from ear to ear. I have pointed out that despite Hector having everyone in his pocket and Fletcher winning everything they only created 1 chance themselves, and put very little pressure on us.

But their season depends on us not getting promoted so getting back on track with a good win will shut them up again. Which is how I prefer it.

I only think this will be a 1-0 game though.

We really do need to win on Saturday, but at the bare minimum it's a draw and then to beat Brentford. Picking up 6 points this week however would put us in a strong position to face Leeds, who hopefully will have dropped 2 or 3 points at Ashton Gate.

I think the players will put in a performance after what happened at the New York, I just hope it will be enough.

An early goal in this one would be the perfect platform. I have no doubt Wilder will get selection right as this will potentially be as tough as I posted the pig's game would be. I said a draw was the best Wed get out of that one. We really do need to win this one.

I've been thinking for a couple of weeks now that we're going to lose at home to Rotherham
Don't know why, it seems illogical given Rotherham's away form, but it has been niggling at me for the last fortnight
I think it will be our biggest home win of the season. I expect we’ll hit 5 past them.

At the business end of the season, we simply cannot contemplate dropping points to Rotherham at home, no matter how many glass half empty fans we have.

Their away record this season and the season before last, when again they didn't win an away game speaks volumes.

Playing squad teams away from home is one thing - get the best team out on the pitch on Saturday. The mere thought of Basham not starting is plain daft. Get Baldock in if fit for the energy he brings and Duffy and McG to play with Billy.

There shouldn't be a single player that needs a rest now, especially seeing as there is another international weekend after the Leeds game. We've weathered a difficult run of games - it's time to turn the screw.

As for long throws - don't give them the option. Rotherham will only get throw ins if they push us back - just don't give them that option and play the same high press as we did v Reading. It's called playing in their half.

UTB

Get ready for the long throw bombardment.

Yeah I was just thinking the same thing. When we played them at NYS that was the thing that amazed me, same as the lad who played for Bristol City, pity we don't have anyone that can do that.

Someone said we will get five, well he could well be right. I think that will prove too much.

My forecast without fear same as Reading 4-0

We wouldn't even knock 5 past Ipswich with 8 men, so forget that.

A clean 2-0 would be just fine.

Will be difficult. Will take a 1-0.
All that matters between now and the end of the season is three points. The table won’t show how good we played, or how lucky we were, just our results.

WE need to rack up a few goals before the end of the season, I was feeling comfortable before West Brom's capitulation to Leeds, now I'm not. Don't let it be goal difference that stops us going up.

Looking like Gale force winds for tomorrow's game now.
Hopefully it'll be dry.
