Simply because 1) I saw him cause us problems once and 2) he seems to score every time I see a Walsall goal.

Not the main priority but you can never have too many good attacking players.

Bradshaw on the score sheet for them again tonight.

Sawyers is a good player, but prefers a role behind the main striker. Adkins seem to want to play two out and out strikers.

Afraid we're stuck with the likes of Sammon. His name was bandied about on here throughout Cloughs reign. Was he really a player that NA wanted, or did someone else at the club make the decision for him. Perhaps they wanted someone who could blend in well with our other goal shy strikers. Will wait for him to prove me wrong.

The reason I was unenthused by Sammon was precisely this - Clough wanted to sign him.

Would be interesting if we could sign him and get him playing consistently but I think he's too attack minded to replace Coutts.

He's always looked skillful, but he's not a Coutts player. He's more of a Duffy, but Duffy contributes more to a team's overall play.

I've mentioned before on here a few times. I was really impressed with him when he was at Walsall two years ago. He has a bit of a lazy style about him, but he casually moves the ball all around the park, a lot like Coutts imo. I think he'd be great but I agree that he's followed Smithy and I doubt he'd be looking to move on given Brentford's situation. I think Smith will have said to him, "stay here and see us safe and you can move on in summer".

We should be looking at another ex-Walsall man imo...

Erhun Oztumer.

I still think he'd be a great addition to this footballing Blades team. In midfield or attack. Such a clever player imo.

Not sure either would give Utd what they need in terms of a replacement for Coutts as both as more attacking, #10 style players.

The point of them being suggested ( Romaine and Erhun ) is they are both comfortable with the ball and do something constructive with it,much like Coutts.

Not disputing that but with Duffy, Brooks and Carruthers already at the club, is another #10 a priority for the JTW? IMHO I'd say that position is towards the bottom of the list with recruitment of a more defensive minded central midfielder/s, striker/s, perhaps additional cover at right wing back and better cover at left wing back and, depending on the loan situation with CCV and Blackman, central defender and goalkeeper for more pressing.

Again i suggest we sign him,he could do the job of two men (Lundstram + Evans).

He has the ability to link defence to attack.

And we like trading with Brentford.

Go and ask Paul Warne what he thinks of Romaine Sawyers.

Just tell them lunny is amazing and we can do a straight swap.

Always liked him and think he would be a good fit for us under Wilder.

He played a full game for Brentford on Saturday. And played well.

Brentford have today turned down 14m for Mepham (another player who put in 90 minutes on Saturday).

Do you really.... honestly... think we have any chance of bidding enough for him? Really?

No way Brentford will sell one of their better players at this late stage of the window to a divisional rival - unless its for money we won't be able to afford anyway.

That's the problem with us having to leave it this late because we haven't got the money to thrust through a deal easily its a game of cat and mouse which can end up in us getting no one.

If we were after League One players the'd be in already because we can afford those deals but Wilder only seems to want PL and Championship players, which I get, but I still think there's the odd gem in League One.
