back of mirror today says Robson was out Sunday night in Manchester with big Sam and bent nose supping champaign to the early hours.

magic! :D:D:D:D

Even if it is true, I see no problem with this. Bloody newspapers just trying to cause trouble.

playing the grunters on saturday and coming to work on monday still pissed is no way to prepare for a derby game IMO.

Whose to say they had an early training session?

I'm sure Robbo (as much as he may like a drink) would not compromise the build up to the owls games.

whos to say they didnt have an 8 o'clock start.

And if you were going into work and your boss was still half pissed, i very much doubt it would have no effect on the attitude of the players.

drinking champagin into the early hours of monday, i think every body would be half cut.

id hardly say seeing 3 big name managers at a bar getting pissed on champers a fairy tail.

it was to do with robbo and Big Sam saying Bruce to be new Newcastle boss. shows you how much they had :D:D:D:D

The Blades train most Sundays, perhaps they have Monday off?, Monday afternoon in the gym maybe?

my bad, he was out till the early hours of sunday morning, so the sunday training session he would be half cut

But I thought you said he was only ever at training when the TV cameras are? ;)

he is, thats how they confirmed it was him, he was all over the place.

Also daily sport reporting it too.

Given that the majority of clubs have Sunday off, why would the TV cameras be at Shirecliffe? and why are we yet to see the footage? given that they only come for a news story/new signing?

Where do they say thats how they confirmed it was him?, none of the online stories mention it?

Daily sport & the Mirror? crikey it'll be on wikipedia next! :)

Example headlines from the Saturday Sport some young perv stuck inside the green-un I purchased :)

"I spewed all over her tits, then crapped myself!"

"I think my baby's Saddam Hussein"

oh and the back page stating that Harry Redknapp was due to take Sol Campbell & David James to Newcastle after beating Shearer to get the job. Apparently these two signings were an attempt to "get the toon out of the shit" :)

if you have seen someone like the 3 managers getting pissed in a bar, there hardly going to print it if it was made up due to liability. :)

But it's alright for you to claim whatever you want about his attitudes to training sessions without actually having any proof?

I think some people ought to think themselves very lucky at times that Sheffield United aren't as eager to consult the lawyers as our neighbours at the other side of the city ;)

Do you really think 3 men of their stature would waste their time taking the rags to court over such a story?

Ampersand is a club and the only supposed source is "one clubber".

do you really think 2 rags would make up the same story? lets face it, its not as though robbo hasnt been know for it.

well yes linz i do have proof about his attitude towards training sessions

lets face it, its not as though robbo hasnt been know for it.

As far as i'm aware the only thing thats been more than rumour is one drink driving conviction?

I don't see people claiming James Beattie is a drunk and turns up to training pissed?

well yes linz i do have proof about his attitude towards training sessions

I am waiting to be enlightened.

And I wasn't aware the gospel now came from papers with headlines such as "You've Not Got M.E. You're Just A Lazy Bastard" and "Diana's Taboo Sex Fantasies Revealed".

so the times writes the truth as its a bigger paper?

My source is a very close relative of a 1st team player and ive heard it from the horses mouth.

The tales of robbo's drinking are not of the few, unless the ex players and managers are all fibbing too?

So the BBC is of the same repute as the Essex Wives channel? Ge'or with it kid. You're fighting a losing battle as far as trying to make out the Daily Sport (owned by a pornographer) is a source of well researched and responsible journalism.

So what you're saying is that you haven't actually got any evidence per-say... but a mate of a mate has said something.

It's not like any employee not to like their manager is it?

Just to throw this into the works from The Independent...

The Independent said:
In his playing days he was known as an awesome drinker, and I have read that the Albion board asked him outright, before offering him the manager's job, whether he had a "problem".

"No they didn't," he says, looking at me with suppressed fury. So it's fiction? "Yes." Silence. Does it annoy him that he can't shake off this hard-drinking reputation? "It's only the media who keep bringing it up, and it's a load of bollocks. I played top-level football until 11 days short of my 40th birthday. I could never have done that if I'd drank as much as I was supposed to. Look, everyone knows there was a drinking culture in English football, and in the lower divisions it's still a bit like that, but at the top it's all changed. Players at the highest level have to be much more disciplined, and I remind them of that all the time."

so its the same as montys mate then?

From my knowledge The BBC are news and essex wifes channel is something completely different, like saying a clown fish is the in the same animal house as a spider monkey.

My point exactly with regards to the rags...

The Telegraph links to the Mirror story. Please point out where it says Bryan Robson was intoxicated.

That bit is very important.

so its the same as montys mate then?

Yup, exactly the same validity. I posted what he said merely to add balance to the claims not to "prove" them wrong. I don't trust anything he says, some things have been found true, some have been found wrong.

cant see telegraph publishing it too if the reports wern't true.

They aren't publishing it, they are mentioning that the Mirror have reported it, atrributing it solely to them :)

taking alcohol is not intoxicated? what is then?

Also with regards to the BBC there hardly reliable with the amount of scandals gone on,

so then the papers have made the story up, both of them because of their reputation?

So what if he had a few drinks?

I know people have seen Geary in Leadmill loads of times on a Monday night, no-one jumps on his back. Just because it's Robson and we've not got a bad result this week people are just looking for something to moan about him because they don't want him here.

taking alcohol is not intoxicated? what is then?

Where does anything even rumour that Robbo was intoxicated or even hungover at training? never mind state it as fact with proper sources?

Surely if cameras were at the training ground on Sunday, one of them would have used the video/stills from said session to put some validity behind the story rather than relying on the words of "one clubber"?
