I played for Micky at Leicester and Brighton, got on with him like a house on fire - well, apart from one little glove-throwing incident which I won't mention now! - and I loved his training sessions.

There will be no strolling five-a-sides for the Blades. Micky wants his players to keep the ball on the ground and play possession football, but most of all he likes them to be fit as fiddles. They will know they've been training every day.

One thing I really admire about Micky is the way he gets knocked down and then bounces back. Every time it's gone wrong for him he's come back stronger.

His main successes might have come at smaller clubs but there is no reason he cannot shine at a huge one like Sheffield United."

Lets hope so. I for one hope it is just like that, no strolling five a sides, 3 second rule and hard training sessions.
 
3 second rule? Is that the one about eating things you've dropped if you pick em up quick enough?
 
If its the one where you've got to close down and get the ball back once possession is lost then yes. If not, then no.

That gives me infinitely more hope than anything else I've heard today. Love him or hate him, Robbie Savage is/was a proper footballer and talks intelligently about the game.

Let's hope Micky doesn't annoy the 'We love Hoofing' brigade on here :)

I don't think the Leicester fans will take too kindly to that comment. But who gives a fuck about them anyway with their pikey accents and the Baby Squad twats? :)

Indeed. Robbie Savage, at least when he's playing against you, is one of the biggest cocks drawing breath on the planet. But when you hear him talk he's far from it. I realise that his opinion of Micky Adams will not sit well with those who want him shot before his first match, but personally I can't wait.
 
Robbie Savage comes across as a prized twat with his Armani tattoo's, long blonde hair, expensive teeth, and his suntan, but scratch beneath the service there is a intelligent bloke who does speak a lot of sense.

Against us he is one of the players everyone loves to hate as he gets up peoples noses, but there is a very experienced footballer inside there, and i work with quite a few Derby fans who really do rate him as a player and a person.

Just people who like to see fast paced passionate football from United.
I see nothing wrong with that.

Well lets see what style we play first before you all start slagging him off. It really annoys me when some people have no support for the bloke before he has even got to the lane. Call yourself supporters? get behind the manager and start to support the club you tell us all that you truly support.

Are people not entitled to their opinions?
I hear where you're coming from, but accusations of not supporting their team because of their opinion is a bit of a joke to be honest.

I think there is a very small minority who have written off Adams as a bad appointment. A decent proportion who are to give him the opportunity to prove himself, but see his appointment as a second choice. A decent proportion who are creaming themselves because he is a Blade, a half decent record and Robbie Savage likes him.

I'm in the middle btw ;)

No offence taken at all pal, we're all Blades aren't we ;)

I know some people go over the top with their opinions, and most of the time it is to get a rise. But even if people aren't happy with the appointment, that's an opinion they should be entitled to.
 
Good to hear! I like Robbie Savage, can be a bit of an arse at times, but lets hope Micky gets the boys going like Savage says

Fair comment, but i dont think it was over the top, just the feelings of a very frustrated/passionate blade. ps we are all blades, arent we?
 
i watched his interview on BP last night and i have to say i like him already, seems to have passion for the club and thats what we need i don't expect miracles i just don't want a relegation battle come April. I am not going to be one who says he has failed if we are not in the Prem in 3 years i just want some passion and a bit of excitement. I can see a cup shock coming on in a week:D
 
It's encouraging to hear Robbie mention that each player will be fit as a fiddle. I think this is a big part of winning games as we'll be able to keep going right until the end like we did under Warnock and not like in recent games when we have been on the end of the a last minute goal.
 
just seen on sky that savage's contract expires in the summer and he hasn't agree'd a new one ? ?
he could be worth a punt we need a leader and some bite in midfield ?
 
Massive is to do with mass (there is a clue there).
So massive clubs have fat wasters as fans. ;-)
Whilst huge is to do with size. And as we all know, size matters.

Maybe he (Savage) had his future in mind when he made the comments. Could he be thinking about having a backup if he does not get a renewal at Derby
