This isn't a rumour per se, but would anybody be surprised to see us take Rob Jones on in a player coach capacity at some point over the coming weeks? He's been released by Donny, so doesn't need to be signed today.

He's tall, plays centre half and, I believe, has worked with Adkins before.

It wouldn't be the most surprising thing to happen to us, I'm sure.

I do agree with you that the whole "deadline day frenzy" is bollocks, but at least on this occasion we aren't only clamouring for signings (of a better ilk than Jones, I might add) because it's deadline day, but because we have completely neglected the opportunity to sign anybody throughout the rest of the month.

If we had wrapped a couple of necessary, decent signings up earlier in the month, I for one would be happy for us to sit quietly today.
