Report today reckons he’s on £45k/week at Palace
That might scupper any deal?
Good if true. It was obvious to all of us that he would have been picked if fully fit last season, as he is much better than anything we have got at centre half. When he played, he looked class, but was blowing out of his backside.I don’t believe the biased crap about Wilder apparently preferring Robinson ( who, earlier in the season, had been quickly dropped by Wilder once Souttar got up to speed). There must have been a fitness issue. We can’t carry on carrying players with dodgy fitness, particularly given our new approach. Plenty more fish in the sea for this position.Gone to America
I thought Souttar came into the side when Robbo got injured rather than Robbo getting dropped.Good if true. And what happened when Robinson got fit again? Are you seriously suggesting that Wilder preferred Robinson over Souttar?I thought Souttar came into the side when Robbo got injured rather than Robbo getting dropped.
No he had one of his usual nightmares missing an easy header to gift qpr one goal and him and Davies making a right bollox of a corner to gift anotherI thought Souttar came into the side when Robbo got injured rather than Robbo getting dropped.
He was injured for 44 days and then regaining fitness. This coincided with Souttar’s injury. So it isn’t possible to say either way.And what happened when Robinson got fit again? Are you seriously suggesting that Wilder preferred Robinson over Souttar?
He also got a groin injury which kept him out for quite a while. No he had one of his usual nightmares missing an easy header to gift qpr one goal and him and Davies making a right bollox of a corner to gift another
Not long enoughHe also got a groin injury which kept him out for quite a while.
Utter bollocks. How do you know he was injured for exactly 44 days? Does it not strike you as coincidence that he miraculously recovered from lengthy injury at exactly the same time as Souttar got injured? Apply a bit of common sense. He was injured for 44 days and then regaining fitness. This coincided with Souttar’s injury. So it isn’t possible to say either way.
The clubs report injuries, including the number of days. You might not have known this. I can’t say I’m surprised at that. No coincidence involved, just how it happened.Utter bollocks. You really are making yourself look silly over this, and I can’t say that I’m surprised by your pedantic approach and know all attitude, consistent with most of your posts ( just returning the compliments). The clubs report injuries, including the number of days. On this I am in full agreement with you. No argument at all. There are plenty of other centre half candidates beyond Holding. If he has gone elsewhere, then I am confident that the management team have better irons in the fire.
Nick,
On this I am in full agreement with you. No argument at all.
You are, however, wrong on the peripheral issue of the reporting of injuries which, apart from anything else, is a requirement of the insurers of players. If you attempt to make an insurance claim arising from an event that happened many months ago that you hadn’t bothered reporting at the time what do you think the outcome might be?
The duration of player injuries has long been in the public domain. PL clubs are required to make official reports in any case, and the game is rapidly following the direction of the NFL (no surprise with the growing influence of American owners) where there has been mandatory reporting for many years.
Sorry - tried to edit and got timed out! Shows how long (and probably boring) my intended response was, so I will spare you. Bottom line is it is very easy to identify and report an injury, and extremely subjective as to when a player is sufficiently fit for selection. The perfect coincidence between Souttars injury and Robinson’s return to sufficient fitness for selection is improbable in the extreme.Nick,
We’re splitting hairs here, and way off topic for the thread, but I’m not questioning the reporting of serious injuries for insurance purposes, but rather the date of return from said injury. I haven’t checked, but am happy to take your word that after an initial injury Robinson was out of the team for 44 days. What I don’t believe is that Robinson was unfit on day 43 post injury, and then was fit on day 44. Deciding on whether a player
