As a younger Blade I haven't had much to cheer in my lifetime.

Chris Wilder is changing all this. Finally a Blades team that gets results AND is an utter joy to watch. Last time I felt this positive about a Blades side was in 2003, and I'm beginning to think these are even better.

UTFB.

We scored and what happened. No hint of a sit back just in their faces straight from their restart.
It is all so refreshing.

Great times. I'm in my forties and I get excited about going to each game. Chris and his staff deserve a lot of credit because we have a really good team, they are organised, they work for each other and they all seem to know exactly what is expected of them. It's an absolute pleasure to go to BDTBL knowing that this team will put in a shift, they will attack teams from the off, none of this cagey bollocks we'd seen under Chuff and Madkins. Both goals yesterday were brilliant but the second was a superb team goal. I think Stevens gets better every game I see him and Baldock was really good yesterday especially as he was up against Blackett who was about 2 feet taller than him, did so well that Blackett got took off early in second half. Also I note that we don't have any scapegoats at the moment, there's not one player that I wonder what the manager sees in him, they all contribute.

This period epitomes what being a football fan is all about. If I could freeze frame this right now I would.

Love it. Simply simply love it.
This post epitomises why spell checkers are a necessary part of everyone's life nowadays. Agree with the sentiments though.

Well, you only usually get "scapegoats" when you lose - because by definition they are ones that take the blame, incorrectly, for others mistakes. So seeing as we are playing well and winning most games there's not likely to be any "scapegoats", but instead, what you get is the opposite phenomenon, where everything and everyone is absolutely not to blame for anything. And that's what we are witnessing now. The reality is that both extremes are wrong. It's never usually the fault of one person when things go wrong - and it's never the case that everyone is perfect when things are going right.

There's a danger in both. People single out individuals for unfair criticism when things aren't going well and people ignore individuals poor performances when things are going well.

Take our goalkeeper, Blackman. He just stood and watched again yesterday as the ball is rolling across his six yard box. He hesitates. He wants his defenders to get rid of balls like that rather than going for them himself. He cost us a goal yesterday and he's done similar in other matches - stood, glued to his line, hoping the defenders will clear the danger for him. But few people will speak up about this because everything else is going so well. What will happen here is it will take an almighty cock-up by him, one that costs us 3 points, before the majority come to the conclusion that a few of us can see very clearly now - he isn't good enough.

The sooner we replace him with Moore, the better, imo.

That's not making him a scapegoat - because I'm saying it now, whilst we are winning, whilst things are good.

Not how I see it actually. I think Blackman has been excellent and, whilst still raw, has shown to command his area well (particularly from arial crosses) and has arguably shown himself to be better than Moore. His shot stopping is good. It just needs to improve on his kicking, which isn't terrible, just not great, when you compare to the likes of Mannone yesterday. He's also massive, which certainly helps!

I think it's harsh to blame him for yesterday's goal, more blame should be given to the defender (O'Connell or CCV, can't remember) that made a poor header straight to their attacker 25 yards out.

Shh, don't tell mattbianco1 I'm defending players at the club though :)

I don't necessarily agree with you on the first point. When Bob Booker first joined the club, and the same applies to Gannon in some respect, he got dogs abuse from our fans and we were invariably winning games (promotion seasons 88-90).

However I have to agree with you about big Jamal. Despite his obvious size, he doesn't fill me with confidence when the ball goes into our area and I think he was at fault for their goal too. Other than that, apart from a few routine catches, he's not had much to do. Like you say it's difficult to be critical at the moment, but I do think that on balance, Moore is a better keeper.

Jamal.was in no way responsible for their goal ,joc. Cocked up..
Agreed, I can’t believe it’s even been suggested. I had a great view of it and what people might not have seen is the little deflection it took of the inside of Bashams’ leg to put it in the corridor of uncertainty, although JOC should’ve been switched on better.

.

You dislike Blackman dont you?

JOC was much nearer to the cross than Blackman was.

Have another look at the video of the goal and you will realise how wrong you were
