Ridiculous pig conversation #6483

It was £17m and it's ridiculous that they didn't ask for a charge over the ground in exchange. I toyed with the idea of taking out a mortgage with the Co-op then using the Wednesday get out clause to avoid paying it off but realised that there's no way I'd lower myself to deal with them.

They were owed £22m + and settled for £7m. They had a debenture over the ground and other properties which is still outstanding Believe it or not.

Re the payments made on reaching the PL I thought they related to directors loans.,

They were desperate to brush it under the carpet. Banks were hated at the time due to the crash and the Co-op were promoting themselves as an ethical bank and didn't want to be seen to be putting a club into administration. In many ways they were as culpable as any lender that loans money to people or organisations with the knowledge they'll struggle to repay it.

Ironically, I was going to switch accounts to the Co-op due to their 'ethical' stance but after they let the pigs off the hook I thought 'fuck it, they're all as bad as each other' and never bothered.

I guess it's a bit like expecting a Great White Shark to be ethical. It will eat you regardless of your backstory.

matey i dont have full facts on what went off that day and know it was sad,the debt was not written off as milan went to co-op and asked what they wanted and he paid what they wanted so the myth about written off is nonsense,im not going to post on this thread again as it will end up a slanging match and that's not why i joined this forum.

I have not got the whole way through the entire report, but this little bit should give you an idea - http://hillsborough.independent.gov.uk/repository/LCS000001110001.html
I also did a thread on it, - https://www.s24su.com/forum/index.php?threads/a-veiw-of-a-tragedy.56444/

euro 96 was 21 years ago , should point out buildings that old need maintaining not left to get flooded and rot
police have had to close large swaithes of the empty blue seats as most have never been tested
which of the other grounds used in 96 have a tarpaulin on them to hide the rust

Thats grossly unfair, there's pigeon shit too.

So the Co-Op still have some sort of claim on Swillsborough?

Depends if it's hungry. The closest I've got was being in a RIB alongside an 8' tiger shark. That was pretty scary. It was even more so when my friend jumped in and swam with it for a while.

I am what can only be described as a non swimmer. I love looking at it, I love being besides it, I don't love actually being in it. When on holiday though, I do try to put my book down and go for a paddle. This one time in the Algarve, I went out about chest high, and at the side of me was this massive Jellyfish. After making one of those noises only Dogs can hear, a rather high pitched "fucking hell", I ran rather comically back to the beach. I probably looked like Norman Widsom would have looked if he'd tried the Daniel Craig thing from Casino Royale.

Taking off the rose tinted and even if you look at it with neutrality which is hard to do.

Hillsborough as not changed in a very long time and had little or no work, the part of the stadium that the victims of the crush were in is still pretty much the same, the tunnel is a little wider, and of course now seating, the out side of that stand remains untouched since 1989 until this year when it had the tarpaulin put over it, which is putting a plaster on a broken leg, it needs significant investment, we have been lucky to be owned by a Custodian of the club that happens to be a property man, there are still a few bits of the beautiful down town Bramall lane that need looking at but I fear for Wednesday that we will have done ours long before any of there ground even gets looked at.

the man in charge is not a fan, he is a business man interested in what he can get out compared to what he has to put in.

the stadium will not matter as much as getting into the premier league and then hopefully selling and making back the investment with interest.

Yeah but they're stinging bastards. It's not irrational. First time I tried snorkelling a fish swam underneath me and for a reason I can't explain, I shit myself (not literally) and went back to the beach. It was just a fish, about a foot long. That's embarrassing.

Some of these nasty little fuckers are quite small fish though aren't they? So not as embarassing as you might think!

I am obviously going to sound biased being a Blade, but when Benfica played there last season, I sat with their fans in the Leppings Lane end. Let me tell you, it is fucking grim, a proper shithole.

Was that in the champions league?

The Wednesday fans thought it was, judging by the insults they were throwing at the Benfica fans I was stood talking with. Didn't take too kindly to being out sung by about 600 Benfica fans either, passionate bunch they are.

I refuse to talk to almost all Wendies about football

Some of them are ok but most are just mentally retarded when it comes to football

I had previously lost count of how many times this conversation has happened

Pig says something outlandish, ridiculous, deluded and completely untrue

I used to say "What you talking about"

Pig says "Ha ha ha easy to wind Unitedites up in it' whilst at the same time convincing himself he's right

I just walk away and talk to somebody else if my "wendy mates" talk about football now, it's embarrassing listening to it

Really embarrassing that.

Fortunately no-one else has read it and it will only remain on a server in Colorado for a couple of hundred years, so you should be okay.

BTW is 'snorkelling a fish' a euphenism?

I sit next to a pig at work. I sometimes try to engage him in actual conversation about football, but usually he goes straight for incredibly dull insults. I tried telling him about the behind the scenes transfer deadline day stuff earlier in the week, and today I tried to give him an update on the story with the comments from Fleetwood and Sinclair. Here's the dialogue which followed:

Pig: well who'd want to play at [inane insult about BDTBL]
Me: that's a bit rich
Pig: why? Because Hillsborough is so fantastic? Do you remember Euro '96?
Me: did you know Bramall Lane is one of only two grounds to have hosted test cricket, international football and an FA Cup final?
Pig: yeah but did it host any games at Euro '96?
Me: actually, you're right. I'll tell you another fantastic ground: Forest's City Ground
Pig: yeah, it is a fantastic ground, as is Old Trafford, Anfield, St James Park...
Me: so hosting games at Euro '96 is the top criterion for a great stadium? Ok, I'll tell you some crap grounds then: Camp Nou, Bernabeu, Rome's Stadio Olympico...
Pig: no they are great stadiums, they hosted European Championships too
Me: ok, I'll tell you a really terrible one then: the Maracanã
Pig: that is bad, people died there

o_O

I do know some pig fans that are balanced in their views of the Lane and Hillsborough to be fair. They know the Sty needs some major investment but I know many who defend Hillsbrough to the hilt and blame Liverpool fans for the disaster. They find it hard to criticise Chansiri though and seem to be fine with his lack of investment in the ground because they have spent a fortune on the team. I have always said that Chansiri's reign at the Sty is still in its infancy and it could still go either way, particularly the longer they stay in the Championship, the more chance there is that they'll become pissed off because the ticket prices are for the Premier but the team is only Championship standard.

So the Co-Op still have some sort of claim on Swillsborough?

No because it's SW Plc which has no assets and is being struck off the register.

So the 150th Anniversary dinner is for an insolvent company that Hasnt traded for six years. :)

I'd say that the ethical stance would be to punish the football club who was defaulting on its debts and liabilities to show the ethical investors and borrowers that it took a zero tolerance stance against a financial (and actual) "Pig". I don't even like going into their supermarkets anymore the wankbags.

I occasionally buy expensive bread cakes and then put them through the self check out as cheap ones. I'm a proper geezer.

I didn't know they had wankbanks. Do they pay for deposits?

"expensive" ? It's all expensive at the Co-0p. Cheaper shopping at Harrods. (So my butler tells me. Council nouveau rich trash that he is)

God so much has happened since I was there earlier in the year, I'll be using the new Iron Horse to travel from Heuston to the wilderness of Kilkenny in a couple of weeks as well :rolleyes:
