He's a leader that's for sure, but he's not gonna have the legs we need in the midfield. Maybe as a centre mid option as a back up and some leadership within the squad, but wouldn't imagine Wilder going for him right now, but if we get desperate?!

I'll say this too. For those mocking the suggestion, remember Stuart McCall?! We all thought what the hell is Warnock doing signing him after he'd been released by Bradford at 37 and we'd just signed Wayne Allison at 35 having been released by relegated Tranmere and Iffy Onoura at 32. In the interests of balance to this suggestion, I reckon Wellens could do a job as back up to Fleck instead of the passenger that has been Coutts who will no doubt leave soon, and Wellens has some definite leadership skills that Coutts could only dream of. And Wellens has multiple promotions and has succeeded at most clubs he's been at, unlike Coutts with us. Wilder's talked about depth and Wellens would add that bit of experience too. Just my thoughts.
