Fully expect him on bench today with a 30 min. cameo to come. Not in any England squads I believe so almost 2 weeks to build up to starting against a leaky Fulham side. Couldn’t be a better scenario that one.

That he cannot be in a position to help and guide youngsters, while he’s still playing? I would suggest the opposite is true.
His age, experience and the ability to adapt, cannot be taught, but as a role model for youngsters, I doubt there is anyone finer, regardless of his starting position.
Besides, it’s always nice for the manager to have more than two fit, in form strikers to choose from. Didsy’s role in the team always varies, depending on the opposition and the flow of the game. Something else that is difficult for youngsters to assimilate,
