I don't believe The S*n or Nixon (who I've just noticed has blocked me on Twitter - I have no clue why).

But here's hoping RE signing Brewster permanently!

Nixon in this mornings rag apart from stating that apart from ourselves, Villa and Palace are interested, goes on to say:

Quote "Chris Wilder's Sheff ield United have been after Brewster for some time and also had preliminary talks with the youngsters camp last week. The Blades are also happy to buy after originally looking at a loan deal"

I'd worry if Palace were serious about him. He's a Londoner. I imagine a move back would be attractive to him.

He does get some right tbf. When you put together all the pieces of the picture; him not being in Liverpool squad last neet, us saving no 24, CW saying a new face is imminent (and being visibly buzzing about it), Nixons comments, plus the transfer odds shortening muchly this morning.. things do look promising. It might be a done deal, in principle anyway. I hope.

and they had a manager who looked like Coco The Clown, called Jimmy Melia, who was running around on the pitch like he was auditioning for the next tour with Chipperfield's circus.

‘Coco the Clown”...thet’s brilliant...made me laugh because it’s so true.
Jimmy Melia also used to remind me of Max Wall.

Is the agent starting to tout things around? Palace seem to want to move Zaha on, so that would give them the funds to possibly outbid us. Villa don't understand what money is, so they'll pluck any number out and throw that forward. Hope I am wrong but if it comes down to fee and wages, we are going to struggle.
If it was a loan then Liverpool would be keen to send him to the right place to develop (us), if they are selling then they won't really care where he goes.
We need to get this tied up quickly.

I'm unsure about him but if CW wants him thats good enough for me. However if we want him we've got to grow some and pay up for him. We saw what a good striker can do for the Geordies last night and there's plenty of other teams who finished below us last season who have strengthened their first 11. We don't want to be get left behind.

Daily Mail is suggesting Palace are focusing on going after Benrahma because interest from other clubs has dropped and they don't want to be in a bidding war.

If there's a bidding war I can't see us winning it. Other clubs as we know willingly go over a players evaluation with bidding to get him and will offer the player a better wage than us too. We need to act quickly and try to get a deal done before other clubs get serious if they haven't already.

I guess the fact that we've met his camp & the news is that we're still interested is good. But Villa & Palace being involved is a worry, going to have to sort our wage structure at some point if we're going to progress to the next level and not stagnate.

Unfortunately,we can’t bridge the wage gap because there are clubs in the premier league whose owners are prepared to invest their own enormous personal wealth,we don’t have that luxury.

Still won't stop an agent sniffing around for what other clubs would pay, wage wise.

A bidding war is interesting in this case. The more a club pays for him. The more Liverpool will have to pay to get him back.

The problem is blades don’t enter bidding wars , the will turn their backs if it gets to that.

£20m is a big gamble on a unproven PL striker. Looking at quest today Adam Armstrong scoring again looks a good finisher. 16 goals last season and at 23 he fits the last chance PL saloon profile CW seems to favour.
