Really don’t think we’re losing another striker to Brighton
Brighton. That powerhouse
Roygbiv has competitionAgree... Brighton fans were getting excited.they think he’s going there....but they’ve now heard that he could be coming here instead.
Its weird how things change....I’ve always known Brighton to be a little club on the south coast..
bigger than Bournmouth but smaller than both Southampton and Portsmouth.
On the Brighton forum...most of their fans are saying stuff like “surely a player would choose Brighton over Sheff Utd...he could be in a relegation battle if he goes there” and “we play better football than them...Klopp wants his man to develop so he’ll prefer Brighton over Sheff U”
and ‘Klopp is a big admirer of Graham Potter.. no doubt he’ll want his man to come to Brighton to play proper football”
and “I’ll be really surprised and angry if a young player with such massive potential chooses Sheff U over us”
6/4 favourites with others pushed out to 5/1

The mighty Brighton? They who spent a decade getting average crowds of 2000? Divs trying to rewrite history![]()
Bizarre. Shit league placings, their best premier league goal tally is the same as ours was last season. But they talk like theyre on another level to us.
Well, if someone asked me to name a team that plays proper football, that isn't fighting a relegation battle and is managed by a well respected manager, the first one into my head is obviously Brighton...

He’s boring enough.Brighton fans see Graham Potter in a way that nobody in the world does. They were talking about him being the obvious choice for the next England manager a few days ago

Kin ell! If I was a Liverpool fan I'd definitely be asking, "Where's t' money gone?". How many seasons have they been continually in the Prem? And they won it last year. But they can't find £25 m to buy Thiago and have to wait until they've sold off one of their young players who spent last season on loan in the Championship?Liverpool have apparently said no loan for him, they need money for Thiago.

Does anyone believe this horse-shit?
Someone posted in this or another thread a link to an explanation as to why Liverpool struggle with funds. Its a mixture of stuff if I interpreted it right:That’s what I find a bit strange as well, you would think Liverpool could easily afford to buy a few new players and spend say £100m this window.
There was a stat during their match yesterday and they haven’t actually spent a huge amount under Klopp. According to the link below his net spend is only £72.35m!

I'm starting to feel sorry for them now!Someone posted in this or another thread a link to an explanation as to why Liverpool struggle with funds. Its a mixture of stuff if I interpreted it right:
They dont get subsidised by their owner like City
They don't produce or sell enough academy players on for profit like Chelsea
They dont make enough revenue from selling merch like Man United
They have gone from being a mid table team to World, European and England champions in six years and their wages have gone up loads with all the bonuses.
Virgil is on 315k a week or something. And they dont have the cash flow because of the above points to have excess funds to buy new players.
Nixon in this mornings rag apart from stating that apart from ourselves, Villa and Palace are interested, goes on to say:
Quote "Chris Wilder's Sheff ield United have been after Brewster for some time and also had preliminary talks with the youngsters camp last week. The Blades are also happy to buy after originally looking at a loan deal"

Your perception of them is similar to mine. They were a perennial lower league team when I was growing up, apart from a colourful period when they won summat, (or came close to it?). I'm thinking of a Cup game when they beat another Sheffield club with a rasping Jimmy Case volley - and they had a manager who looked like Coco The Clown, called Jimmy Melia, who was running around on the pitch like he was auditioning for the next tour with Chipperfield's circus.
Strange how fans can have a distorted perception of their own reality. I suppose all fans have it to some extent, because the club becomes the family and the family are part of the tribe. But I think if you compare the history and achievements of the two clubs then there's no comparison which is the bigger and more successful club. And as regards the football they play...I didn't hear many pundits raving about them in the Prem last season and they've got to be amongst the relegation favourites this time around.
