If this is another case of the lad wanting to play and a permanent transfer, but Liverpool wanting to keep him it is a little like Hendo all over again.
At £20m he’s a risk, but there’s no guarantee Liverpool will sell at that price, they can just send the lad on loan, see how he does and it’s a win win.
I can see the scousers demanding a huge fee with numerous add ons in place to tempt them to sell.
So in that case, we will be out.

Sounds like he would only be open to a loan, not interested then would rather take King from Bournemouth IF Dennis is a quick direct forward.

There are thousands of strikers out there. Paranoia or is he a lazy manager that just stalks Wilder?

I think it's paranoia with this one to be honest. After missing out on Wilson, they still want striker and Brewster (along with Watkins) is an obvious target for a club like Villa.

I don’t think people should be worried about this one if he goes it will be a only on loan , Villa are desperate but they’re going down

Why isn't there a scrum for King? I'd love him over nearly all the suggested strikers, and I'm surprised other clubs aren't all over him, too.
Because personally, I don’t think there’s that many clubs in the league that need a striker. Us, Villa, Burnley West Brom are the main ones I think

That could well be right, I still would have thought all of those clubs would have ar least enquired about a player like King though.

“I don’t really want to go on loan”...... bit of a worrying comment

On the plus side, I would imagine he'd rather go out on loan, and have a chance next season of making the squad, than leave now for Villa on a permanent basis. Also can't see Liverpool wanting to sell. I wouldn't be surprised to see Brewster playing for Liverpool in the first one or two weeks of the season, see how he does and then maybe that could determine if he stays or goes out on loan. I would guess that Brewter is the one we'er having to be patient for, but I would imagine we'll have other options also, not including Burke either.

As much as I would love them to go down, Villa will be absolutely fine next season.

Possibly, think us and Burnley don’t pay those sort of wages, West Brom seem to want Grant and think Watkins is Villa’s main target, but strange he’s still at Bournemouth, can’t see him still being there when the window shuts

Just read the article, also mentions a permanent deal. We can’t afford to get into a bidding war or wait too long. Think we walk away from this

He's not really a striker though is he? He's be a great addition to 4-5 squads in the bottom half and a couple in the top, so I'm certainly surprised.

No way are Liverpool going to sell him now. If they manage his progress correctly then he could be an absolute world beater in a couple of seasons, and worth far more than 20m.

In my opinion it will be a loan if anything at all, and I honestly think we have a far better chance of landing him than anyone else. It's already been touted by a few sources that Klopp is a huge admirer of Wilder.

If he’s not a striker why the fuck would we wan5 him then?😂
We need a younger man to play the Dids/link role. King would fit in nicely into that and with the added bonus that he can also score goals.
A far superior option than Brewster is right now, as he's not ready to be starting PL games regularly.

If he comes to us its clearly the lads plan B, which at the side of playing for Livepool is fine but I don't want to be a punishment or a disappointment.

He played in the Championship last season and didn't get promoted with Swansea. I hope if he does come to us that he's fired up to make an even bigger mark in the Prem rather than sulk.

Mourinho has recently been linked with getting King and Will Hughes.

No idea if true, though both good value and talented squad players for a team like Spurs.

It's surely very similar to Hendo saying he wanted to be Man Utd's no1... for the 2 years we had him?

Not really a shock though is it.

They've missed out on Wilson, don't look any nearer getting Watkins and need a striker.

If they want to spunk £20m on Brewster then let them. I'm still not convinced he's going to be as great as everyone's making out.

I’m hoping it’s a manoeuvre to force Brentford’s hand a little with Watkins. They don’t need to sell but it will end up being a maupay situation - and he wasn’t on the cup squad at the weekend.

otherwise we have to hope a taxi with the scouse lads swings it in our favour.

Only way I could see us winning a bidding war is if we agree to a buy back in Liverpool’s favour which would be good for us, him and Liverpool. If he came on that basis he would try and impress them to trigger buy back so we would benefit from his good form.

We are about 3 times better than Villa. That might counteract the fact they'd pay him 3 times more.

If any of this is true btw... I never believe The S*n about anything, including football.

I think it's more about the fact that Villa seemingly won't fuck off.

At first it was coincidental, then a bit more common, now it's just ridiculous. And I don't subscribe to the notion that we would undoubtedly be shopping in the same pool. They spunk money at owt, they can afford to shop elsewhere, they just follow our judgement.
